Publisher's summary

City boy Toby Merrow needs a change of scenery, and two weeks at a dude ranch seems the perfect solution, even though it’s a far cry from the scenes of San Francisco. Not much chance of finding anything like that out in the wilds of Montana. But who knows? If he’s really lucky, one of the other guests will show up on Scruff—or even better, Recon. That’s if Toby has energy for anything else after spending his days riding out and herding cattle….

Grizzled ranch owner Robert Thorston’s foreman died five years ago, but Robert lost far more than a trusted right-hand man. That door is firmly closed, however, and the trappings that lie behind it are gathering dust. He’s thrown himself into his business, never giving that part of his life a second thought—until a new guest catches his eye.

It’s obvious from the start Robert and Toby have a connection, one they are keen to make the most of in Robert’s bed. No strings, no complications, and itches get scratched—well, most of them.

Then Toby discovers the coiled ropes under Robert’s bed, and the leather cuffs in the nightstand drawer….

Sooo goood ❤️❤️❤️🔥🔥🔥

A great start to a new series about the gayest bunch of cowboys, a makeshift family, each with its own story to be had 🤩
This first story is about the boss wounded by his past, closed himself off from everything and everyone till a dominant from San Francisco find his way to the ranch of Salvation as well as to the owners heart ...and 🔥🔥🔥 shenanigans follows and the healing begins 🥰
At once a different and trademark K.C. Wells story given sound by Jon Solo's narration 😍

Amazing age-gap romance, wonderfully narrated!!

Amazing age-gap romance with some beautifully written hurt/comfort and slow-burn teasing. Loved the heartfelt, captivating writing. There’s such a heartwarming vibe throughout the story, just what I needed. And best of all … it’s Collars & cuffs with cowboys! Yessss!! I loved the power dynamic between Robert and Toby, and how honest and caring they were with each other. They build such trust as they grow closer physically and emotionally. BDSM is a part of who they are, and I loved how that was written, respectful, nuanced … and hot too, of course. It’s the easiest thing to believe in them as a couple and root for them. The way they fall in love is subtly written and absolutely enchanting, dreamy even. There is a truly wonderful cast of secondary characters at the ranch. Robert’s crew looks out for him, each in their own way, and they are a great bunch! I can’t wait to see what the author has in store for them. So excited this is going to be a series!!

Narration: John Solo's outstanding performance makes listening to this story a wonderful experience. The emotion and nuance in his acting is incredible and the different voices he brings to the great set of characters are spot on.

City Slicker meets Country Stud

🎧KC Wells dangled and teased her readers with the blurb and occasionally teased the readers with snippet, and boy she didn't disappoint.

Toby Marrow is a Dom, a city boy who needed to get always from the club he co-owns, the people. He just needed a break after his sub decided to call it quits. He decided to go to a dude ranch.

Robert Thorston is the owner of a ranch, a cattle and dude ranch. After five years he's still grieving the lost of his foreman/lover/Dom, until his new foreman told him about one of the guest who came to experience ranch life.
And my oh my there were sparks, lots of sparks.

This book is a second chance, City boy meets County living, found family story that takes place on a Dude/Cattle Ranch.

From the time I read the teasers of this book, I was itching to read it and I can say I love it all. The back and forth, the interactions between the two MCs as well as the ranch hands and guests. It's like a ranch run by a whole family.... I enjoyed it all, I wanted more.

I enjoyed the little side note at the end of the book. KC really set the stage for other authors. The way she writes makes us desire for more of her characters.
I'll be waiting patiently for the next book in the series

John Solo did a wonderful job as always, he gives the characters feelings, a personality. Listening to him narrator the book makes me feel like I'm watching a movie or seeing the whole story played out in real life. Well done.

Fabulous

This was soooo good. The storyline was very interesting and I enjoyed the way the characters interact together. They tried to deny the attraction between them but it was explosive. Robert and Toby are perfect together. John did a fantastic job with his narration as always. Can’t wait for more.

A Wonderfully Steamy & Heartfelt Story & Listen🎧

K.C. Wells turns up the heat for this beautifully written and captivating romance novel, a story that grabbed not only my attention but pulled on my heartstrings the entire book. Wells’ characters are realistic, easy to relate to and connect with, they are easy to care about and even fall for. Toby Merrow does not do love or feelings, and as a dominant he wants his submissive to be just that, his submissive, and nothing further in the relationship. It is his number one rule, and he is always upfront with his subs about that. When his latest submissive, Tyler, expresses feelings and wants more, Toby has to let him go. Toby is also part owner of a kink club, and news that he is free travels quickly and prospective subs approach him to scene with, but he is not up for it or for seeing his ex back in action. Needing to get away, he books a vacation at a dude ranch in Montana, a working vacation. Robert Thorston is the owner of Salvation Dude Ranch, his heart has not been into it lately, hasn’t been since the lost his foreman who was more than just his right-hand man on the ranch. His ranch hands know he has not been himself when a guest arrives and they see the sparks that fly between the two they gently nudge the two together. Despite coming from different worlds, Toby, from the big city and Robert, a genuine cowboy, they were great together and for each other. And when they realize they have more in common it is game on, especially once Toby learns Robert’s preference, to be a bottom. It was like they made these two for each other, while Toby is only there for the two weeks they make the best of their time together. Robert knows Toby does not do love, but is there a possibility of having a long distance D/s relationship and making it work? Does he even want that? I loved how everything played out in this book, it is a wonderfully plotted story with a perfect balance of drama, heartfelt emotions, steamy kink and romance. K.C Wells, thank you for another amazing story and emotional rollercoaster ride. I am looking forward to hear more Salvation Ranch greatness in 2023.

🎧📚🎧 And for the amazing narration, John Solo did a wonderful job bringing these characters and their story to life. He had a complete understanding of who these characters were, gave each their own voice, and was believable in the roles he played. You could hear how much heart he put into his work as he captured all the characters’ emotions and projected them into his performance and had you feeling every single one. John Solo is an entertaining storyteller and a versatile voice artist, his narration enhances this already fabulous story to another level. Thank you for another exceptional listen.

Wrangled

This is a sweet story that about finding a connection when you least expect it. Robert and Toby are each dealing with their own issues. Robert is wallowing in his past and believes that love is no longer for him, Toby has always denied love and is trying to move on with his life. When Toby shows up at Robert’s dude ranch the two men are taken by surprise by their strong attraction to each other.

I enjoyed being along for the ride while these two find their way. It was nice to see the way Toby helps Robert heal and deal with his past. The attraction that they have deepens as Toby spends time at Robert’s dude ranch and the emotions shine through in everything that they do but will that be enough? The author weaves a magical tale full of love and emotions. I was quickly pulled in and immersed in their story. Once again narrator John Solo does a wonderful job of bringing the listener into the tale and letting us feel their emotions.

Just The Right Time

I love how the timing of the meeting is at just the right time for both men. Robert is finally starting to deal with his years old loss. Toby thinks he doesn't do relationships. But both of them are taken by surprise at the fit. This is the start of a new series and I can't wait for the rest of their stories.
I listened to the audio version and enjoyed it very much.
