Publisher's summary

The secluded rental cabin offers Jim Traynor exactly what he needs: peace and quiet to finish his latest book, and maybe a little inspiration for a new series. There’s even a little dog named Buster to provide an adorable distraction. Buster’s owners, however, bring distraction of a very different kind. Jim’s determination to focus on his work doesn’t stop his delicious fantasies, but each new encounter with Julian and Michael makes him forcefully aware of the aching desire building within him.

Julian and Michael have built a wonderful life together. Then Jim’s arrival rocks it to its foundations. Julian is drawn to the quiet writer, aware of an intensifying connection between them. Michael feels that same magnetic pull, but remains haunted by the past: They’ve been down this road before. Reaching the end of it broke Julian’s heart, something Michael will not let happen again. He strives to be the strong one, but with every passing night, he’s falling for Jim just as hard as Julian is.

Both men know Jim can only hurt them if they let him in. The trouble is, Jim might already be through that door. If he is, the day will come when he’ll walk right back out of it.

Only this time, how many hearts will be broken?

*The bears featured in this story are strictly of the human variety. Any resemblance to bear-shifters - okay, they’re furry - is purely coincidental.

Amazing daddy kink, poly romance!

Great storyline, beautiful writing and wonderful, well-rounded MC’s. It’s been a while since I’ve read an mmm romance I’ve loved this much. I really liked that the characters were a bit older than we normally get. These are mature, intriguing and charming men with quite a bit of life experience under their belt. The relationship builds up very gradually, starting from a physical attraction but with a great emotional connection as well between all three men. I loved that even though Michael and Julian have been together for years, and quite happily so, you never get the impression that Jim is a third wheel or somehow less than. Michael and Julian were simply looking for a bit of fun, and Jim is persuaded to go along, but then, of course, they really click and deeper feelings develop…but will all three of them will be willing to take a risk on a new love, a new life? I loved how gradually and absolutely genuine all of it felt, very nuanced writing and heartfelt emotions.

Narration: a wonderful listen! I very much enjoyed John Solo's performance! He's such a great narrator and brilliantly captures all the little nuances in pacing and emotion to really bring to life the main characters. I think he did a great job in creating voices for all three of them.

Tender & Sensual are understatements!

First, I just want to mention that the person who narrated the book had numerous instances throughout the novel where his voice would change abruptly in mid-sentence which would make it sound very obvious that recordings were pieced together or spliced, and it detracted from the flow.

Now, the story itself was absolutely amazing! I will confess this is my first piece of erotica or romance that I have ever *listened* to, and, despite my previous paragraph, found it quite enjoyable to listen to. I want to simply listen to sexual encounters for the sake of sex. I specifically chose this as my first intro to audible romance/erotica because I was told it had SOOO much more than that... and I wasn't let down in that regard at all!

I found the entire story, it's plot and the emotional connections of the characters so very tender and sensual! There were many scenes and dialogues that made me tear up. Being a "Daddy" myself, I found the daddy/boy dynamics tugging at my heart-strings, as well as turning me on! I wished to *BE* those characters, to be in the midst of their discovery of each other and their love. It felt so real, that I wanted to be cuddling with them, to be another receiving their affection! I wanted to be in *any* of their shoes!

I am hooked on this author. I hope more BEAR romance stories are to come, especially ones so tender, sensual, and *authentic.*

Love the book, narration, kind of ruins it

The book is well written, and it is so great to see bears, represented in sexy, steamy fiction. That said, the narration- I had to turn it off more than a few times every time the reader said “COCK-…. tail..” The hokey reading is the opposite of sexy. I was wishing for someone who sounded more like the author’s lead our imagination to believe the characters sounded like.

Came for the trash, stayed for the romance

I have never listened to a trashy romance novel before, perhaps partially because it's difficult to find any with characters that pique my interest. This was a bit of a gamble for me, but ultimately I'm glad I gave it a shot.

I understand why the author would repeatedly use the word "cocktail" as a bit of a tease, but the way the narrator always pronounces it "COCK-tail" was a little over the top for my tastes. It could have been more subtle.

Such A Wonderful Read

This book was such a nice breath of fresh air. The characters feel so real and complex. Their feelings are palpable, and I can't help but imagine myself there with them. Definitely cried a few times! very good read. Tantalizing sex scenes as well! Ghost pepper spice~

Bears in the Woods

When Jim decides to take some time for himself in a secluded cabin, he never thought that his life would change. Meeting Julian and Michael sparks something in Jim. Soon emotions come into play and feelings are on the line. Will the three find a way to come together or will this chance pass them by?

I enjoyed this book and its characters. Julian and Michael are a great couple and the love that they have for each other is strong. I loved the way they shared and wanted Jim in their lives. It was nice to see the three find their way. Each man has a strong personality, yet they fit together nicely. The three are good together and soon hard decisions need to be made. Love is strong between the three, but can they take the plunge and risk their hearts? I loved seeing the relationship grow and deepen between them. The author weaves a good story and narrator John Solo does a god job of bringing the characters and their emotions to life and I was quickly immersed in story.

The 3 bears

I mostly enjoyed this book, but it’s marketed as having more detail than what the author included. Three guy enjoy winter in the woods, and they have a cute dog. It’s a low angst book that ends happily. It’s nice.

But nice is all I found it. Even though though the “main” main character is Jim, I kind of thought he remained a bit of a blank slate, so it was easy to root for him but hard for me to attach to him.

Steam: Medium low. Maybe medium? but the marketing is for MMM extra steamy, so when, after finally getting to the first romp in the boudoir, we jump scenes by a couple weeks, I felt there was too much detail missing. I’m trying not to be too hard on the author for not meeting my expectations since I didn’t commission this, I just expected more action.

Narration: No complaints. I’m happy that there are narrators who treat sexier romances seriously so I can listen to them and complain they aren’t sexy enough.

Bears, Oh My!

This story is a fun tale of meeting up and finding out it works for everyone. I like that Julian and Michael are solid in their relationship which probably makes them more ready to bring Jim into their hearts and lives. Jim has to take his own risks to embrace what is happening. A feel good story all around.

I listened to the audio version and really enjoyed the reading.
