The secluded rental cabin offers Jim Traynor exactly what he needs: peace and quiet to finish his latest book, and maybe a little inspiration for a new series. There’s even a little dog named Buster to provide an adorable distraction. Buster’s owners, however, bring distraction of a very different kind. Jim’s determination to focus on his work doesn’t stop his delicious fantasies, but each new encounter with Julian and Michael makes him forcefully aware of the aching desire building within him.

Julian and Michael have built a wonderful life together. Then Jim’s arrival rocks it to its foundations. Julian is drawn to the quiet writer, aware of an intensifying connection between them. Michael feels that same magnetic pull, but remains haunted by the past: They’ve been down this road before. Reaching the end of it broke Julian’s heart, something Michael will not let happen again. He strives to be the strong one, but with every passing night, he’s falling for Jim just as hard as Julian is.

Both men know Jim can only hurt them if they let him in. The trouble is, Jim might already be through that door. If he is, the day will come when he’ll walk right back out of it.

The 3 bears

I mostly enjoyed this book, but it’s marketed as having more detail than what the author included. Three guy enjoy winter in the woods, and they have a cute dog. It’s a low angst book that ends happily. It’s nice.

But nice is all I found it. Even though though the “main” main character is Jim, I kind of thought he remained a bit of a blank slate, so it was easy to root for him but hard for me to attach to him.

Steam: Medium low. Maybe medium? but the marketing is for MMM extra steamy, so when, after finally getting to the first romp in the boudoir, we jump scenes by a couple weeks, I felt there was too much detail missing. I’m trying not to be too hard on the author for not meeting my expectations since I didn’t commission this, I just expected more action.

Narration: No complaints. I’m happy that there are narrators who treat sexier romances seriously so I can listen to them and complain they aren’t sexy enough.

So sweet and sexy!

This is such a sweet and sxey listen. I love Michael, Julian and Jim! They are so perfect for each other. This is such a beautiful story and John Solo does an amazing job with this narration. He brings so much life into this story and I just fell in love with even more.

Vulnerability & Open to new experiences is why I love M/M romance books

I love this book! The tenderness of the narration really brings home the words. I've listened to it twice now, and if you are wanting one of the most emotionally tender, honest, sweet, books with mature and well developed characters, consider this one. There's no extra words, scenes, or chapters, everything serves a purpose. The emotional vulnerability of Micheal and Julian, mixed with the open to new experiences of Jim, is what I love most about this book. Well done to all who had a part in this short but powerful book.

Love everything about this book! Excellent character development with realistic plot. You can feel how real the love is 💕. Narration on point. Highly recommend!
