Publisher's summary

Meet the six men of the Personal series.

In Making it Personal, Blake Davis, in-the-closet CEO of Trinity Publishing, celebrates his 30th birthday by hiring an escort - only to have him turn up the next day to be interviewed as Blake’s PA. It’s about to get a lot hotter in Blake’s office....

Personal Changes is the story of Rick, who decides he’s had enough of being casual - he’s looking for love - and he finds it in the shape of Angelo. Unfortunately, Angelo’s traditional Italian family isn’t too happy to learn he’s gay.

In More than Personal, it’s Will’s birthday and Blake has something special planned. However, their surrogate has news that might change all that.

In Personal Secrets, Blake’s office manager, Ed, a brash, loud Cockney bear, finally finds the person who completes him. The only thing he hadn’t anticipated was that it would be a guy...

In Strictly Personal, Colin plans a special Valentine’s Day weekend in Manchester, only things don’t go according to plan.

Personal Challenges sees all three couples facing up to difficult times. They’re going to need one another in the coming months.

Chosen Family

A beautiful series about three individual couples, each with their own individual history and struggles to establish their relationship; but more than this, the series is about the friendship bonds between these men that are so tight they know they always have a safe place with their close-knit group of friends. Really what you’d call “chosen family”.
I absolutely adored Cornell Collins as a narrator, and K.C. Wells as an author (both were new to me).

Pleasantly surprised

For this hearing impaired yankee transplanted into the south, I enjoyed the different accents. Especially Ed’s. The story lines gave enough mystery for what was ahead to keep me listening right up to the very end. Gay romance isn’t just what’s going on in between the sheets, it’s how we live our daily lives unapologetically for ourselves and our lovers. Every gay man can relate to at least one of the characters in these books if not all of them. Thank you KC for writing about our lives in such a raw and beautiful way.

Bloody Brilliant

OMG! I loved all the stories. The first couple Blake and Will were fantastic. I loved how their initial meeting made it awkward funny when they meet again in a more professional setting. These two had the right amount of chemistry. I loved that they respected each other so much and were supportive of each other.
Rick and Angelo were a pair that you would think would work. Rick is this out and proud guy and Angelo was in the closet due to his family. I was happy when Angelo finally got up the never to defy his family and chose the man he loves over the future his family tried to force on him.
Colin and Ed were freaking HOT! I think they were my favorite couple. I mean who doesn't like hot rugby players falling for each other. And while it took Ed a while to admit he was indeed attracted to another guy, he still had my sympathy.
This was a new narrator for me, but he did all the voices well. I was able to tell each character a part and he brought such life into the stories.

Personal The complete Series

I enjoyed this set of stories. It is full of strong characters and multiple emotions. Each man has a personality that stands out yet together they are unstoppable. Every couple has their own problems to deal with and work together to fight for their love. I loved seeing not only the couples work together but also the way all the men come together and help one another no matter what. I also enjoyed the extra snippets that were added to see more into the men’s lives. All the characters made an impression and the love that they have shines through in all that they do. Showing that love is strong and worth fighting for.

Fantastic

Holy cow, I had never read these before in ebook format and I was missing out! This series is just incredible...each story is better than the one that came before it! KC Wells is a master at wringing many different emotions out of her readers and this collection is no exception! Cornell Collins did a fantastic job at narrating this collection. I look forward to listening to more of his work! Best value around for a credit, don't miss it!

Amazing series about a great group of friends!

Making it Personal: The series starts off with quite the steamy office romance as Blake, a successful CEO, falls for his assistant Will. Circumstances are less than ideal, but they can’t stay away from each other. Their chemistry is scorching, and their emotional connection is as seductive as the heat they share between them. I like that Will is more dominant in bed than Blake, who has the more powerful position in terms of jobs and social standing. Blake has grave concerns about coming out, especially with regards to his father’s reaction, and certain nefarious elements try to take advantage of that to manipulate Blake into what would amount to a lifetime of self-denial and unhappiness. Will is a wonderful character, very easy to love and empathize with. He has known more than his fair share of setbacks and pain and seeing him find love and a fulfilling career was just awesome. He deserves all the good things. The MC’s don’t have it easy, but in the end, everything gets resolved in a very satisfying manner. Love this story!

Personal Changes: Rick is looking to make changes to his life, trying to find a meaningful connection, but he trusts the wrong man. My heart ached for him and then rejoiced when he got to know Angelo better and discovered that yes, there is a man out there he can love and trust. Angelo’s not out to his family, afraid they’ll reject him, a heartbreaking prospect, and as a result, he’s distanced himself from them, trying to keep his secret. I really liked that there were some severe bumps in the road when it came to Angelo’s family, and how that played out with regards to Rick and Angelo’s relationship. It wrought havoc on my heart, but it made the story that much more realistic, and the emotions that much more real.

More than Personal: This is a sweet and sexy interlude where we get to see how Will and Blake’s HEA is turning out. They have been married for six years by now and are anxiously awaiting the birth of their first child. Of course, things don’t all go as planned, but little Sophie’s arrival is an endearing moment, and I loved seeing these two characters start the next phase in their life. We also get a teasing glimpse of other good things to come. It’s Ed’s turn now to find love!

Personal Secrets: This is a beautiful friends-to-lovers, OFY romance. Low on angst, lots of happy butterflies, and with plenty of great friends and co-workers to support the MC’s. Colin’s been interested in his ‘straight’ mate for a while but never imagined something could actually happen between them. He is proved wrong in the best way. Ed, so gruff and straightforward, is adorable as he tries to figure out his new-found attraction to a man. It takes him a bit of soul-searching and a few mistakes, but he has his heart in the right place, and it is set on Colin. I love how Colin and Ed talk things out together, and how heartfelt and authentic the scenes with Ed and his mom felt, and with the rest of his family. Ed is hands down my favorite of all the MC’s in the Personal series, though all of them are awesome!

Strictly Personal: Colin and Ed’s romantic getaway doesn’t go as planned when Colin ends up hurt, and Ed runs into trouble with the law. Luckily, Blake can be counted on to help Ed out, and Will joins them all in Manchester to salvage what’s left of both couples’ Valentine’s Day weekend. Colin went all out to give Ed a dream trip and still has a surprise up his sleeve, even after all the commotion. Swoon!

Personal Challenges: we get to revisit all three couples in this final story. Will and Blake seem to have the perfect life with their two children, whom they love intensely. Sadly, their newborn baby son faces some health issues that are not easily solved. Their worry for little Nathan was heartwrenching and difficult to read. It’s easy to relate to the desperation of parents who just want what’s best for their child and want to protect them from any and all threats and cares. Sadly, that’s not always as easy as we’d like it to be. Rick and Angelo are mostly focused on trying to arrange their wedding, with a lot of well-meaning interference from Angelo’s mother, which at some point is more a hindrance than a help. Diplomacy is key, but they find a way, and Angelo’s mom continues to be a source of support and love in the face of the disapproval of some of Angelo’s very catholic relatives. Ed and Colin have a rough road ahead when someone from Colin’s past reaches out unexpectedly. Colin discovers new, painful things about this past relationship. As he tries to make his peace with these new revelations and be there for his former lover, things get incredibly emotional. I cried some ugly tears as this played out. Ed is the best, as always, absolutely amazing in how he supports Colin. His love for Colin is such a pure and powerful thing, incredibly moving. The book ends on a high note with wedding bells for Angelo and Rick. I adored their wedding! Can’t say more than that without ruining the surprise. But it was just … everything!

Narration: Cornell Collins brings all the guys to life in the best way. I was charmed by each of the voices he did for the main characters in this amazing series. I loved the different accents and timbres he did, and the way he seemed to truly get all of their personalities. Wonderful performance!

🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂 A 5 out of 5 rating!

I've so far gotten through Blake and Will's story and I'm thoroughly enjoying it. So much so that I'm giving it a second listening 🙂🙂. Also, are my eyes deceiving me, or is that really Dirk Cabor the musician/composer pictured on the cover!??
