Sie waren Zwillingsgeschwister, Fräulein Monika und Pfarrer Emanuel - Die Geschwister begaben sich an den neuen Wohnort und erfuhren bei ihrer Ankunft manche angenehme Überraschung. Zigeuner waren gekommen und hatten ihr Lager beim Kirchhof außerhalb des Dorfes aufgeschlagen. Die Weiber und Kinder trieben sich bettelnd in der Umgebung herum, die Männer verrichteten allerlei Flickarbeit an Ketten und Kesseln und bekamen die Erlaubnis, so lange da zu bleiben, als sie Beschäftigung finden konnten und einen kleinen Verdienst.
