Publisher's Summary

Rising star Zack Grantham has been stuck in a downward spiral of grief that has put his career on hold. Back on the road with the Carolina Cold Fury, still crippled by emotional baggage, and now a single dad, he's in need of some serious help with his son. But while the nerdy new nanny wins his son's heart, Zack isn't sure that he's ready for a woman's touch - even after getting a glimpse of the killer curves she's hiding under those baggy clothes.

Kate Francis usually keeps men like Zack at a distance. Though his athlete's body is honed to perfection, he refuses to move on with his life - and besides, he's her boss. Still, the sparks between them are undeniable, tempting Kate to turn their professional relationship into a personal one. But before she makes a power play for Zack's wounded heart, Kate will have to open him up again and show him that love is worth the fight.

Not as good as the first two books

The more I read, the more I Disliked Zack! I liked Kate at first, but the more I read, the more it ticked me off, because she was such a doormat for taking his crap. It ended OK but I would like to have seen him lighten up a lot sooner. I will probably just pass on Ryker's book.

Great listening!

This third audiobook in the Cold Fury hockey series was really well done. The hero, Zach, is still struggling with the loss of his long time girlfriend and mother of his son after a tragic accident. He has to hire a nanny for his son when it's time to return to practice and games. Zach's sister ends up choosing the nanny when he repeatedly puts it off and she's not what he expected. Kate, our heroine, is rather nerdy and frumpy (on purpose) and speaks her mind. At first they are wary around each other, but as time goes by their attraction gets harder to ignore. Can Zach heal enough to try to love again? Great narration!

Cold Fury FOREVER!!!

I really enjoyed reading.listening to this book! The author Sawyer Bennet does a phenomenal job taking the characters as well as her readers on a real emotional roller coaster during this book. She does a wonderful job describing the all of the pain that Kate and Zack are going through. You feel the guilt that Zack is feeling regarding Gina. But there were times I wanted to reach thru the book and slap him upside his head with his hockey stick for what he was doing to Kate. I really did! Throughout the book you see even with what Zack has gone through, that he is a wonderful father to his son Ben.

This is a wonderful, heart rending, happily ever after story of two people falling in love. The hard way.

As far as the narrators, Cris Dukehart, Graham Halstead did a phenomenal job. They bring the story even more to life,

Thank you for reading my review.

Bad narration IS an issue!

This was an ok story but it had horrible narrating. It could have been really good with Teddy Hamilton’s voice and any other female doing the lead. I did finish the book but it just never got any better. If it’s free, read it. If not, find something better.

Redeemed

Definitely feel like this book was a redemption after the anger I felt in the second book. I was still a little irritated that it took Kate so long to cut her ties with Zack but still she finally did. I just wish the epilogue was a little better or had a little more meat to it. Overall though, I really liked this story.

Nice Addition to the Series

I liked a lot of things about this book, and even understood Zack's struggle to keep Kate somewhat at arm's length. The only thing that bothered me was that she took so much from him. She was a doormat for far too long, and her belief that he'd eventually come around began to wear thin. I cheered for her when she got her lady balls and stood up for herself, even as it made me emotional.

Loved the interaction with other team members and their women. It was nice to see those characters again, and I loved the support they gave Kate.

The narration was okay. Nothing great but no complaints, either. This book gets a definite recommend from me.

A sweet and enjoyable story

I really loved the female character, Kate. She was really funny, adorable, and how could Zack help but fall for her. I enjoyed this story from start to finish.

Really!?!

Ugly nerdy girl with glasses takes them off , lets down her hair and all of a sudden she’s beautiful! Really!?! From his appearances in the previous books I was so interested in Zacks story. This one didn’t live up to my expectations. It could have been sooo much better!

"NOT MY FAVE...BUT STILL GOOD!"

Book #3 was a great easy read. Loved the angst, and personality of the character's. Hated Zach's indecisiveness (even though he was grieving, and he drew lines in the sand as far as how he felt about Beth, I felt like he still used Beth, and I didn't care for that.) All-in-all, it was 4 Stars.
