Repetitive...and UNHELPFUL
In this book, there is a constant drumming of how bad our health care system has gotten. Yes, I know, and that is my reason for buying this Audible book! I'm looking for ways to avoid getting caught up in the one-way web of doctor, hospital, health insurance and pharmaceutical profits. I KNOW America's healthcare has failed me and I don't need to know the statistics over and over again. I'm still waiting to hear in the book about how I can become smarter than my doctor...maybe Dr. Davis is leaving the best for the very last chapter, so he can write and sell Part 2. I'm just finding little substance to this book and it's been disappointing.

first half of book is rough but 2nd half is a must
the book is split in two parts. the first half is repeating sentences of why your doctor is wrong about mostly everything. The 2nd half is the real helpful information. I really had to power through the first half but the 2nd half of the book is incredible and extremely informative. definitely a must read.

The best book on nutrition so far-a MUST READ!
I've read dozens of the most recent books on health, nutrition, chronic disease prevention & treatment. This book encompasses ALL the good, up-to-date scientific evidence & proven nutritional strategies to reverse the most common diseases & health conditions we face! Dr. Davis gets real & raw about conventional nutritional advice & the mainstream medical industry based on his many years of experience as a cardiac surgeon as well as his extensive research/study, & his current, wildly successful practice. You'll learn what triggered & how we can halt the current epidemics of diabetes & obesity, as well as most of the other common ailments hundreds of millions continue to suffer from. These strategies are NOT theory! You'll hear example after example of extremely ill, depressed, overweight or obese, & generally unhealthy people making complete recoveries from diabetes, thyroid disorders, auto immune diseases, skin conditions, mental/emotional issues, bone disorders, infertility, & the list goes on. Shockingly disappointing
I loved Dr. Davis' "Wheat Belly" book, but this one is a bitter disappointment. So boring, I have to fight to stay awake while listening, and simply lacks enough useful info. More of long-winded editorial about the medical and food industries.

Everyone should read this book!
As a healthcare worker myself, I am so relieved that someone is saying what I have been thinking for so long. . . But Dr Davis gives us all the information we need to make this a reality. Doctors take care of themselves. They have too much liability to do what's best for you! They are covering their own backsides, not ours! There is so much basic things we need to do for ourselves that a doctor can't do for you. We have much more control over our health than a doctor does.

Empowering, Entertaining and Educational
Struggled in the beginning to let go and be immersed with just another seemingly hot headed arrogant MD that needs to have his opinion heard (entertainment), however, after the first chapter I was all in for the next 90+ chapters. Listened beginning to end over the course of a couole weeks and while enduring occasional flippant remarks, the entire read was empowering and educational. Although much of this was simply a confirmation (CHC), many items were pure gold nuggets with corresponding bookmarks. Good info, too long
I thought the first 30-33 chapters were too redundant. Info could have been effectively edited down to 3-4chapters. The middle third book is excellent, where he begins speaking about the grain issues and then to vit D3, magnesium, etc. The book complements books by Taubes, etc without overlapping too much. Overall a good learning experience
