Publisher's summary

When someone is dead and buried, they’re supposed to stay that way....

Aren’t they? Claire Morgan thought so, but now she suspects the dead guy whose treasures she’s been digging up is not only breathing, but spying on her, too. Crap!

When someone is divorced from a pain in the ass, they’re supposed to stay that way....

At least, that’s what Ronnie Morgan had hoped when she dumped her husband. But then he rolled over on some bloodthirsty criminals. With him tucked away in prison, they’ll settle for taking their revenge on her. Fudge!

When someone is temporarily insane—

Kate Morgan is not crazy, dang it! A few twitches and some mad laughter aside, she has a gut feeling her family is in danger. Big danger. The kind that ends with a lot of blood. Now, it’s her job to keep them alive.

The Morgan sisters are back for another round of twisty tussles and rollicking romps!

The Morgan sisters are at it again.

I can’t get enough of the Morgan sisters. I also love how every character has its own storyline. I need more please!

Great to see the girls back in action, but...

I'm always thrilled to see that there's a new Jackrabbit Junction book ready to be heard, but this time, I was a bit disappointed. There was just not a lot to this one. It just seemed like a lot of exposition and filler. There was very little in the way of action of any kind. It just seemed like a lot of ramping up of various characters' anxieties without any real reason and very little pay off in the end.

*****SPOILERS*****

As the series proceeds and unlike what usually happens with a series, the characters seem to be getting more and more two dimensional. Ronnie is too apprehensive about deepening her and Grady's relationship, for what seems like very little reason. Claire is less nosey than usual, plodding along going from one job to the other without much action. And Crazy Kate has gone off the deep end for what appears to be no reason at all.

Penny has Mississippi spinning his wheels for no good reason either. There is a short rundown of her rather uneventful history that is supposed to explain her reticence to get into a new relationship with him, but it really does fall short.

The hitman storyline involving Ronnie was just dumb, moving from one unbelievable event to the next, culminating in a completely unnecessary death. Kate's weird fixation on the deputy has gotten old and we still don't have a clue as to what it is actually about. None of the Morgans' boyfriends made much of an appearance though Mac had a little more attention than the others.

The weirdest thing in the whole story for me this time was the grandfather's complete absence. He was referred to quite a bit, but never made an appearance. I found this especially disappointing because he is one of my favorite characters in this series.

Lastly, the cliffhanger ending was not so much of a cliffhanger as it was just a dead stop. It's as if Ann couldn't figure out where to end the book, but since it was kind of over-long already, she just hit pause and said "See ya next time" and waved goodbye.

I'm really hoping the series picks up in the next book. This is one of my favorite series and I'd hate to see it just peter out. In the end, it was still good to spend a little time withe the South Dakota-to-Arizona transplant trip. I just wish there could have been a bit more excitement this time around.

Laugh

Like a cozy with a big dollop of spice and sex. The characters are very well drawn in this series. You feel like you know them. The adventures are like Lucy and Ethel again with an adult twist. I love this series

Love!

Ann Charles did it again! cannot wait until the next book. ♡ The way she writes makes you feel you are part of the Prickly Pear Posse and on an adventure with the Morgan Sisters. A must read!

Less then I expected.

Compared to other Ann Charles books this one was uneventful at best. Very little got started and nothing got resolved. I someone asked me what happened in this book I think I could explain it in one or two minutes. Lots of romance, very, very little mystery.

Too much of a lot of NOTHING

I love this series and this book was pitiful. Nothing happened except sex. No I’m not complaining about this, but it went nowhere. Hopefully the next book will be up to her standards because this wasn’t.

Too much time wasted on sex scenes.

I enjoy a good romance but almost every character was having sex or attempting to.I have read or listened to every one of her books and they have never been this full of it. The story went ssooo slow and in the 12 hours spent listening it didnt progress much because of the multiple chapters spent on sex.
