Publisher's summary

A Lycan descendant of Gilgamesh and Enkidu, Tristan is not as extraordinary as his ancestors. He is an average warrior, unremarkable throughout. But this fact does not trouble him because he has found his Twin Flame, the one person destined to be his, who will love him unconditionally, life after life.

Then his Flame betrays him, leaving him shattered and dying. Brokenhearted, Tristan dissolves the sacred bond and leaves. His best friend, Ushna, accompanies him, vowing to guard and protect him, and Tristan slowly comes to realize love does not require a sacred bond.

But if he hopes to keep the love he chooses, they will first have to survive ancient secrets, lies, mythical creatures, and the return of absent gods....

Clever and Entertaining, Matt Haynes is Wonderful!

Clever and wonderfully entertaining, Lexi Ander’s Twin Flames is a fantasy tale with a bit of everything. Treachery, politics, magic, friendship… and romance! Beautifully written, and perfectly narrated by Matt Haynes, Twin Flames grabbed my attention and kept it from the very first scene.

Matt Haynes is a new narrator for me, but he blew me away with his performance. He has a spectacular variety of voices and accents, and truly captures the mood of this story. Lexi Ander goes to great lengths to build a unique world here, and Mr. Haynes’ adds much to the experience.

The plot is unique and unpredictable, and I’m going to go ahead and reveal that this one ends with a bit of a cliff-hanger. I have absolutely no idea where this one's going from here, but one thing I can guarantee? I won’t be waiting long to read the rest of this tale!

YES!

You have no idea how excited I was to learn that this series was being put into audio! My expectations were pretty high since this is one of my favorite series, and I'm happy to say that Matt Haynes did not leave me disappointed. Matt does an absolutely phenomenal job narrating this book. His accents and tonal choices really make this story come alive, without being too dramatic or over-the-top. If you haven't read this book/series (or even if you have) then take this opportunity to enjoy the audio. I can't wait to hear how Matt does the rest of this series!

amazing start to the audible series

I have read and reread these books, so when I saw that Ms. Ander was releasing them on audio I was so exited. Her work just comes alive when read to you. (look up the other audio she has released)
(not that it doesn't when you read it, it's just a different level)

The down side first, We are left with a cliffy. Luckily, from what I understand the next will be out in a couple of weeks (end of Nov, '18)

Like all of this authors work, this is a complex and detailed tale. Deep in family, culture and history which she ties together seamlessly. But because of that you have to listen and absorb, it's not one that you can turn on and tune out.
These characters are so wonderful, the lives they weave together, you just want to be right with them throughout.

Matt Haynes, the narrator, is new to me, and when I first heard him a was unsure but after the first couple of lines I was so engrossed I forgot why I didn't like him at first. Maybe because I forgot that Tristan was a true southern gentleman?
But by the end of the first chapter I realized Matt was so prefect I simply couldn't think of anyone better, he embodied these people, made them come to life.
Just as Ms. Ander does by simple writing the stories down.
What a great team.

I need all the books, NOW!!

Loved it

The story is very engaging and the narration was good. Can’t wait for the second book.

Mundane sandwich

Thus is half a story sold as a complete one. It begins and ends in contrived fantasy. The author over complicates the story with an excessive build up of obscure background characters. The story then becomes mundane, a cowboy shifter romance. I was expecting a fantasy and suffered through a useless build up only to be disappointed and confused.

The narrator does a fine job but can't compensate for the less than inspired story line.

I won't be purchasing the second volume specially since the first left too much unanswered. I don't trust the author not to leave the plot unresolved or try to sell me another full priced book.

I love this story, but couldn't stand voice acting

I love this book. Unfortunately the narrator's attempts at an accent are incredibly distracting.

At first it's so thick and fake it's hard to understand, and the fake southern accent is so distracting I couldn't even listen to the actual words even when I tried to read along with it.

I have read every book in this series, it's a great series of books, but I couldn't make it through two chapters of the audio.
