Publisher's Summary

Strange things are happening all around Brinnswick. Things that remind me of a piece of my past I’d rather forget. Girls are being killed, drained of blood, and left with strange markings on their bodies. When I finally connect the cases together, a specialist is called in - though, what he’s a specialist of is beyond me.

When the chief assigns him as my new partner for the case, I can’t help but groan on the inside. Why of all people would I be assigned to Ailin Ellwood? The man is a disaster waiting to happen and a jerk to boot. A sexy jerk, but a jerk nonetheless.

What will Sebastian think when he discovers Ailin’s specialty? Will he make a run for it or will he stick around and discover a world of magic hidden beneath the city’s surface?

The Enchanter’s Flame is the first book in the Ellwood Chronicles. It’s a paranormal romance that contains explicit material and is intended for mature adults 18 years of age and over.

More Magic

A story of magic and mayhem, supernaturals and humans. A human detective is thrust into an investigation with magic overtones. He struggles to come to terms with beings he thought of only as myth are real... including his new partner. It is lighthearted, amusing, tearful, and captivating; all of the feels. The epilogue sets up both a potential continuation and/or a future volume. The main story is complete. The narrator, Kenneth Obi, is gifted with a variety of voices and speech patterns. He brings the story to life.

Enchanted a bit.

The story lived up to my expectations. Held my interest all the way to its conclusion. The cars of characters were engaging and helped propel the story. Look forward to book II.

This could have been a great book

The main character is supposed to be a 35 year old detective who is also ex-Military. Why does he sound like a teenage girl? The author should have done research or maybe read other novels that have male characters in them who are adults. Sebastian's character acts likes he's young and not very bright. Other than that, the plot is pretty good. Ailin is a great character who doesn't sound or act like a young high school student. If the author had gotten the characterization of Sebastian right, the book would have been solid. I honestly think it could do with a re-write. It's almost like a YA M/F novel. I hope the subsequent novels in the series are better.

OMG! The Magick I Never Knew I Needed.

I am familiar with this author from her other series' and, although a fan, this book didn't interest me. The magick/paranormal just didn't feel like my thing at this time. Fast forward to the audio release. I am a huge fan of Kenneth's and decided to give this one a shot.

Absolutely brilliant narration of an amazing world! Witches, warlocks, ogres, and many other magick beings; combined with mystery, murder, and romance; The Enchanter's Flame had me on the edge of my seat, laughing out loud, and in tears—both happy and sad.

If you are on the fence about this title, jump!

Gripping from start to finish

This book was so much more exciting than I was expecting. A truly surprising and gripping storyline, full of shocks and twists. Kenneth Obi's narration brings a depth to the characterisation as well as the dramatic effect that makes this such a fun listen. I can't wait fur the next in the series.

Frustrating

The story has so much potential, but it's terribly written. It's like if someone who knows what they were doing came up with a great plot and then some 14 year old running a Supernatural fanfic tumblr got their hands on it and fucked it all up. Sebastian, who is supposed to be a grown man and a cop, is written like an insecure, whiney and rather stupid teenager and I just want to slap him over the back of his head and send him to his room for most of the book. The way the story is often told by his inner (whiney) monologue was also a terrible idea. It could have been so good. I'm sad.
