A step down from the last few novels...

2 steps down from the books written by Clancy himself. A good concept, but a few too many leaps in the story line. Connections made by the characters that no one would actually make without more information. Original Clancy novels didn't do this. It seems to be more common, the further out we get from his passing. It takes away from the story in a significant way for me.

Scott Brick is excellent, as he has always been in the books I have heard that he has narrated.

easy to follow

just the right number of characters to listen and follow along. unpredictable storyline kept me wanting to continue listening.

The narrator is awful

The story is fine, if a bit straight down the fairway. The narrator does this book no favors.

Not up to the standards of a Tom Clancy novel.

You can tell the story is rushed and has some technical details wrong. One thing Tom always did was take his time with the storyline and make sure the details were correct.

The characters kept me at arms length…

The characters wobbled between whiny and wooden.
That said, I now have a new appreciation for Scott Brick who pulled out all his narrating tricks to make some kind of sense out of this oftentimes nonsensical and sometimes tortured storyline.

a real good story disjointed in peratation confusing at times but did come together in the end

my least favorite "Clancy" book. a little slow.

ALl in all, it was ok. slow to the end, but good none the less.

... Still Entertaining

This is not the best Jack Ryan Jr. book out there, but it's still very entertaining and a bit more low key on the technical stuff which was liberating.

Scott Brick's performance lifted the book up to cover it's minor storytelling flaws.
