In the suburbs of Maryland, the firm of Hendley and Associates meanders its way through financial transactions—but its true purpose is to identify and locate terrorist threats, and then deal with them in whatever manner necessary. “The Campus” is always on the lookout for new talent, and its eye happens to light on President John Patrick Ryan’s son: Jack Ryan, Jr. While his father moved through the ranks of the CIA and into the Presidency, Jack Jr. received the benefit of years of life experience in special ops, intelligence analysis, and the way the world really works. Now, the Arab terrorist world and the Colombian drug cartels are about to unite forces, and Jack Jr. must put all he has been taught to good use—or else. This was a typical Clancy book. I very much enjoyed it. That is until it abruptly and inexplicably ended. It was as if there were other parts to the download that I didn't have. I literally checked for missing parts twice. It wasn't until I pulled my hardcover off the shelf and looked at the ending that I really believed that the book had ended this way.
I would recommend it if you like Clancy's spy novels and if you are willing to be entertained for 16 hours and then left hanging and disappointed (with the ending) at the conclusion of the book.

Good start, abrupt ending

As an avid Clancy fan I have read or listened to just about everything he has published. I am impressed with even his bad novels. I will not rate Teeth of the Tiger as bad, just not one of his best. The storyline as usual was so close to truth that it is easy to believe but it tends to be a bit dull and lacking in, the normal for Clancy, action. The ending left me hanging but not looking for further adventures of Jack junior. I still recommend the book but not to first time Clancy readers/listeners

NOT CLANCY'S BEST

What made the experience of listening to The Teeth of the Tiger the most enjoyable?

Action, the anticipation of the next person being killed.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Teeth of the Tiger?

Probably the end when Jack Jr. kills the man who had killed the Mosad agent.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

The reader did a pretty good job of changing his voice for different characters. Sometimes not enough, but I prefer that to going overboard which some readers do.I counted 11 times where the same line was repeated. That was true in one of the other Jack Ryan books. I'd work on quality control. Have someone listen to the book, it's simple and doesn't take long.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No

Any additional comments?

I skipped it because of so many negative reviews, but went back to it after I read the rest of the books in the series. We didn't hear from Jack Ryan, John Clark, or Domingo Chavez, but Clancy did a good job with Jack Jr. and his cousins. It was a nice switch.

Better than the negative reviews I read

This had the ingredients of a really good story (three individual characters of whom each was interesting). But unfortunately, there wasn’t much suspense in the book. Additionally, it seemed a bit disjointed. I might fall asleep listening to this book, and when I wake up, I realized I hadn’t missed anything of importance and just kept listening.
(just a note of irritation: I do not understand why the infamous Tom Clancy kept using the word “twins“ to refer to two of the three main characters. If they’re main characters, why wouldn’t he refer to them each time individually?🤷)

Ranked high on my “Boring Meter”
