A little exhausting

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

The time is well spent. The book flows fairly well and the individual stories move well. However, I spent a lot of time trying to ignore Blays(blaze). His character was poorly developed with little depth. His comments during the entire second book have the feeling that the character was added AFTER the trilogy was finished. Note, during the first book, his character is tolerable enough.

What does Tim Gerard Reynolds bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The reading of the trilogy was done quite well. I commend the performance.

it was story of friejndship , with plenty of action and adventure fast moving, it had alot to it it was generally a good story with diverse intrests to it

What does Tim Gerard Reynolds bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

i usually get the audio after reading them this is one i did not. but the readings usually help me see how others llook at the same thing just a bit diffrence and stress diffrent areas of intrest .

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

these books are wonderfull because they have areas where you laugh out loud and areas where you just chuckle and areas where you want to cry .in the end you hit each and every emotion covering a range.

these were just really good storys they were actionfilled and keep your attention and cover a range of emotional responces and areas of intrest.

Worth far more then a credit

Really enjoyed the adventure, characters and world that unfolded so beautifully.

Would recommend this to anyone with a spare 60 hours, hard to stop listening at some points.

Great Listen

This is definitely well worth your time and credit. The characters are well developed, the magic is believable and the story is well written. Tim Reynolds does a fantastic job as always. I'll be listening to this one again in the future.

Imaginative, refreshing.

Tropes? Nope, won't find many here. Wildly odd for something in this genre. I'm surprised at some of the bad reviews this book is getting. I thought it was highly entertaining.

A fantasy masterpiece!

This was the first series of Edward W. Robertson's that I've picked up and I'm glad I did. The story is well paced, thought out and epic in scope. The characters are well developed, conflicted/complex and laugh out loud funny. Wit and sarcasm is woven into every page of this book making it thoroughly entertaining.

And, last but not least, Tim Gerard Reynolds skill at brining these characters to life is unparalleled. His accents and line deliverance enhance this otherwise fantastic story into a true gem.

I look forward to many more replays of this in the future!

This book certainly exists

After six months in my suggested reads I thought, why not? The writing isn't terrible, the protagonists banter with his conspirator can be charming if a little over done. My main concern is the plot seems poorly assembled overall. Perhaps I'm spoiled by works of Tolkien and Jordan in which every tree branch has a back story; but the main characters spontaneous existence and decision to do the things that spark the story bother me greatly. How does he know if this secret thing in this secret place that nobody else on the planet knows? The inconsistent occurrences just spiral out of control from page 1. Not a terrible book overall, however, I wish the author had taken time to avoid such lazy, Deus Ex Machina, contrived writing.

It's a book series that grows on you.

I didn't appreciate the beginning or the most of the first book really. The characters grow ln you however, and although the plot seems to develop erratically in incoherent directions, the relationship between the different characters and the history and ways of the universe keeps the book interesting.

Too long

Good story but could have condensed into 2 books. Took me forever to get through first book but I loved all of the characters.
2nd and 3rd book was really, really awesome.
Good job with reading too, added to the story.
