This book has been on my TBR and I have eyed it for so long. Imagine my happiness by realizing it leans fully into dark academia and has all the moody, obsessive, and emotionally charged vibes I go for in a book. The tension builds in quiet, intimate moments and the academic setting adds that perfect edge of secrecy and longing. I definitely binged this bad boy in a few hours!

One moment that absolutely stayed with me: “You are the only woman that matters. They are my past, but you are my present and will always be my future.” And the family thread woven through Draven’s story hits just as hard: “You will meet a girl one day, Dravin. She will be different than the others, whole and pure hearted. She will come to you like a raven.” His nickname for her (Raven) has such a haunting, tender touch.

definitely an intense ending to make me get book 2! I mean the story is well written leaving me thirsty for more!!

Good enough

I didn't care that the fmc kept thinking things and then repeating the same thing verbatim, it seemed like a waste. Almost like the author was simply trying to take up space. Otherwise I didn't have much to complain about. Unsure if I'll continue the series just because this audio book was available with my audible membership and the next ones aren't. Just not sure it kept me interested enough to use a credit.

The story line

I loved this book 📖 such a great story line and beautiful cover 🫶🏼🖤 10/10 definitely a must read

Decisions

It just makes you wonder: Do you really want the thing, person, object, power, etc that you're after? You might find out that once you get it, it bites you in the ass. The narration was spot on all the way threw the book. I love the storyline but it leaves you on a cliffhanger.
