Publisher's Summary

When wills clash and hearts collide, who will reign victorious?

Termed an Incomparable during her first London season, Lady Harriett Cavendish is beautiful, spirited, and confident, capturing the attention of a great many suitors. Unfortunately, they all failed to capture her attention, and she concluded the season as unattached as she'd begun it.

Only weeks prior to her second season, Harriett encounters Lieutenant Christopher Jamison while visiting Tanglewood Manor. Recently returned from war, the lieutenant is everything that Harriett's previous suitors were not. He's arrogant, ungentlemanly, irritating, and challenges her at every opportunity. When he goes too far, Harriett decides that it's time to turn the tables on him. But as she sets out to put the lieutenant in his place once and for all, she discovers there is more to him than meets the eye, and when it comes to matters of the heart, she has no control whatsoever.

Intoxicating love story

Adorable and very well developed characters and believable storyline. I️ never like the second and third books as much as the first however this is one situation where I️ adore the third better than even the first two books in a series. The love development was beautifully done although no passionate scenes were courtesied in. Hate to finish the book but alas all good things must come to an end. Would have loved the light clever banter to continue between the hero and heroine. Conversations between the two were hilarious. So much so that I️ laughed out loud throughout the book. Do NOT hesitate to purchase.

Humorous and Heartwarming

This is the perfect example of why I listen to audio books! I want to be uplifted from the pressures of life, reminded of spiritual values, laugh some and be delighted with the happy ending! Thank you so much Rachael Anderson. The narration was perfect! Helen Taylor.
I will listen to this book again.

A great end to the series

WHAT IT'S ABOUT
Termed an Incomparable during her first London season, Lady Harriett Cavendish is beautiful, spirited, and confident, capturing the attention of a great many suitors. Unfortunately, they all failed to capture her attention, and she concluded the season as unattached as she’d begun it.

Only weeks prior to her second season, Harriett encounters Lieutenant Christopher Jamison while visiting Tanglewood Manor. Recently returned from war, the lieutenant is everything that Harriett's previous suitors were not. He’s arrogant, ungentlemanly, irritating, and challenges her at every opportunity. When he goes too far, Harriett decides that it’s time to turn the tables on him. But as she sets out to put the lieutenant in his place once and for all, she discovers there is more to him than meets the eye, and when it comes to matters of the heart, she has no control whatsoever.

MY TAKE
Talk about a story of misunderstandings and fear of speaking. Anderson does a wonderful job of setting up the challenges that both Harriett and Chris will deal with in the story, including painting another person with expectations that don't fit them and fear of showing one's true emotions. There was a lot of humor in the story--Chris was certainly quick to see it. Unfortunately, it came across as insensitive and a little mocking, so it was easy to see why Harriett was so easily offended.

The "battle" between them ran on a little long for me, but the tender moments when they would show the other a glimmer of the person inside was the reward. Each learned a lot from the other and the meeting in the middle was very satisfying.

I listened to the audiobook, and the narrator Helen Taylor did a fabulous job!

The best of three

Whilst all three books in this trilogy were entertaining, this was by far the best. the narrator is excellent and enjoyable. Good, clean reads.

Really the story should get a tad more than 3 stars!

The narration was marvelous again! I must say it didn’t seem like Rachael had quite the spark of humour and depth of character in this book. Lady Harriett’s endless preoccupation with her lack of talents- while certainly possible for any of us to feel that way- made both her and the story seem very shallow. Although the end of the book was very well done!

Enchanting read...

Frustrating at times, funny and believable. Chris and Harriett seems a great match and the story is unique. Just when you think you know what will happen, it still manages to surprise and delight you. Not the ending I expected, but I’m thrilled at the resolution.
