Publisher's Summary

At the end of her third season, Miss Sophia Gifford is firmly on the shelf, and she’s determined to accept her current suitor — a man she likes but cannot love.

When her sister decides to throw an impromptu summer house party, Sophia reluctantly agrees to help. What she doesn’t realize is that her sister has plans of her own — plans that would bring a certain childhood friend back into Sophia’s life. It’s been nearly a decade since Sophia has seen Hugh Quinton. He’s grown into a handsome, charming, and successful — yet completely unacceptable — tradesman. Her mother looks down on him, her father detests him, and society would snub him in an instant. Sophia shouldn’t even consider him.

But her heart won’t listen to reason, and before long, she finds herself wondering how much she is willing to sacrifice for love.

Fun light read

This can be a stand alone book, but follows My Sister's Intended. The story follows Sophia and her romantic journey, but she's living with Prudence. It's a light, fun, and clean romance. I found it enjoyable.

Not my favorite from Rachael Anderson

I always love this author’s clean historical novels. However, this one was my least favorite. It was mostly slow and boring, and the main characters were dull with not much chemistry. I still listened to the whole thing...the ending was sweet.

Beautiful Sweet Romance

I love a sweet telling of two individuals who find a way to be together and beat the odds. I love a great story and this one kept me listening.

Fine

I appreciate clean romances, though this one was a bit more tedious than it needed to be. It’s filled with Sophia’s internal thoughts, lots of repetition, and the simple plot of which man will she chose at a house party—with a few flashbacks that I fast forwarded through. Though it also does a lot of over-explaining (underestimating the reader’s intelligence) it was good enough for an evening’s entertainment while I did a task.

Great series.

This is a great series. You can recommend it to anyone as it doesn’t have any explicit content, which I really appreciate. Enjoy Listening to the narrator. Of the books this is my least favorite, however it is still a good story. All in all a great series.

Best out of the 3

I found this the best out of the three in the series. I didn't really enjoy the second at all. This could be read as stand alone too, however reading the previous two gives you a better insight into the full character of Sophia. I enjoyed this one.
