Publisher's summary

Beloved author Lauraine Snelling launches a new immigrant series

When Signe, her husband, Rune, and their three boys arrive in Minnesota from Norway to help a relative clear his land of lumber, they dream of owning their own farm and building a life in the New World. But Uncle Einar and Aunt Gird are hard, demanding people, and Signe and her family soon find themselves worked nearly to the bone in order to repay the cost of their voyage. At this rate they will never have land or a life of their own.

Signe tries to trust God but struggles with anger and bitterness. She has left behind the only life she knew, and, while it wasn't an easy life, it wasn't as hard as what she now faces. When a new addition to the family arrives, Signe begins to see how God has been watching over them throughout their ordeal. But after all that has happened, can she still believe in the promise of a bright future?

The Promise of Dawn

Would you listen to The Promise of Dawn again? Why?

Yes, because I love Ms. Snellings books and I try to buy all of them at least the historical ones when they come out.

What does Christina Moore bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I like Ms. Moore in most of all the other books that I have heard her read, but for some reason I just couldn't get though it the first time that I listened, but the more I stuck with it her voice grew on me even though she would not be my first choose.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

I really don't know because I really hope that they don't make a film because some of my most beloved books have been made into movies and they are not the same. though they are good they are not the book. I might have someone pictured one way and they you might have another.

The Promise of Dawn!

I absolutely enjoyed this book. The narration from Christina Moore was amazing. She kept me interested all night long, I couldn't put this book down. Laurie Snelling is a wonderful author. There were so many stories within those pages and I am looking forward to reading more of her work.

What an excellent book.

I still have 2 hours to go before it is over, but what a good book. I’m very interested to find out why the mean man is so mean.

Additional impressions: wish the author had cleared up a few things. Oh well, still a very good book.

BTW..there is Christian content, like prayers. Sorry people complain about Christian content.

Christina Moore has become my absolute favorite narrator,

Really like the Author

It was a good book but there were some spots that seem to drag a little. The one reading was good at doing all the parts

Enjoyable listen

Another great, healthy story about the miracles of life and faithfulness of family ties. Sometimes we must just "wait upon the Lord!"
