The book of Genesis is God’s autobiography and the foundation upon which all revelation rests. The purpose of this book is to give the origin of all things, including the cosmic order of the universe and the covenant relationship between God and his people. Speaking the Word from his eternal dwelling place of light, God fashioned everything from nothing, perfectly displaying his awesome wonder. We will never be able to take the mystery out of creation, for a God who is incomprehensible in his greatness accomplished it.

“Break Through the Language Barrier, Expand Your Understanding” The Amplified Bible is a Literal Equivalent translation that, by using synonyms and definitions, both explains and expands the meaning of words in the text. This unique system of translation allows the reader to more completely and clearly grasp the meaning as it was understood in the original Hebrew and Greek languages. For example, the Greek word pisteuo, which the vast majority of versions render as “believe.” That simple translation, however, hardly does justice to the many meanings contained in the Greek pisteuo: “to adhere to, cleave to; to trust to have faith in; to rely on, to depend on.”

Story
Of all the sixty-six books that comprise our Bible, the last book is meant to thrill and exhilarate the believer like none other. A beautiful Christ is unveiled while a company of overcoming saints is seen rising into the fullness of Christ. The book of Revelation is exciting, powerful, and dynamic. But it must be more to us than merely an unveiling of events to come. Revelation must be an experience of encountering the living Christ. God is ready to unveil this book to those who are ready to receive it, eat it, and live fully in the splendor of Christ. The unveiling is more than a vision given to John, but is also meant to be an inward discovery, a delightful unveiling within you. This is not a drama of Satan’s worst, but a supernatural drama of God’s best, pouring through his beautiful Son, Jesus Christ.

Story
Turning the other cheek does not mean standing by while the enemies of God dismantle Christian civilization and brainwash our children. Decrying the cowardice that masquerades as meekness, Eric Metaxas summons the Church to battle. An attenuated and unbiblical “faith” based on what Bonhoeffer called “cheap grace” has sapped the spiritual vitality of millions of Americans. Paying lip service to an insipid “evangelism,” they shrink from combating the evils of our time. Metaxas refutes the pernicious lie that fighting evil politicizes Christianity.

The secret to happiness is to acknowledge and transform suffering, not to run away from it. Here, Thich Nhat Hanh offers practices and inspiration transforming suffering and finding true joy. Thich Nhat Hanh acknowledges that because suffering can feel so bad, we try to run away from it or cover it up by consuming. We find something to eat or turn on the television. But unless we’re able to face our suffering, we can’t be present and available to life, and happiness will continue to elude us.

Story

Great translation, poor labeling
I love this translation and Brian Simmons is a great narrator.
The problem is labeling the books of the Bible as though it was a novel rather than a series of inter-connected books. When you see 470 chapters instead of the 27 individual books it is not only daunting, but it prevents reading a specific book out of order, like Ephesians. (Do I really need to do all that math to find what I want to read?)
Putting the book name along with the current chapter number would be very helpful.

Wonderful
Despite the constant hate received by Dr. Simmons from the more conservative church, I LOVE this translation. It allows you to experience the New Testament in ways that are often overlooked and neglected by the mainstream church. I consider the Passion Translation a welcome addition to the ever growing collaboration that is the Bible... not that any version is “less than” or “faulty”, but rather that they are all a partial glimpse into the majesty and glory that is God’s written words to us.
Dr. Simmons does an amazing job explaining his translation in the footnotes of the written works, and his desire to share the Heart of the Father shines through.

Absolutely love it!
This audio New Testament (Bible) is the best I've ever come across. Brian Simmons voice is easy to listen to. The translation is made from words I actually use everyday and I believed to be accurate. Mostly I listen as I drive down the road and sometimes at night while I'm asleep. I have woken up many mornings with the scripture still going I'm surprised to hear exactly what I needed for the day or wisdom on something I'm dealing with. The translation itself is one of the main three I study from - NKJV, PT and the newest version of the Amplified Bible. Sometimes I also use the NASB and Message translation. The commentary on the written Passion Translation is excellent. There are times as I drive listening that I have that aha moment that the Holy Spirit points something out, this seems to happen more with the Passion Translation than any other audio Bible that I have. There are definitely translations that I choose not to use or trust but for my needs this audio book is amazing. It is the Holy Spirit that teaches me all things but it does help to hear the word in what I speak and understand. Good job Brian Simmons you did a great job thanks! Blessings K
