Story
The rarely heard inspirational stories of the Apocrypha brought to life in this unique audiobook. In Biblical terms, ‘Apocrypha’ is a much-misunderstood term - and the title belies the immense significance of the 14 books to which it refers, all of which were originally published in the 1611 King James Bible but removed in 1885. Most of those books have always been in the Roman Catholic, Greek and other Orthodox Bibles and therefore are accepted as true Scripture by the majority of Christians.

The Qur'an, believed by Muslims to be the word of God, was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad 1,400 years ago. It is the supreme authority in Islam and the living source of all Islamic teaching; it is a sacred text and a book of guidance that sets out the creed, rituals, ethics, and laws of the Islamic religion. It has been one of the most influential books in the history of literature. Story
For centuries, the only way to access God’s word was to hear it read aloud in public gatherings. Today, many are blessed to own personal printed copies of the Bible, but there is a surprising benefit to hearing the Scriptures read aloud as it was for so many generations. Verses you have read many times will impact you in a new way when you hear them through the Listener’s Audio Bible (NIV). Read in a single voice with subtle background music, Max McLean’s skillful, engaging, but never over-dramatized style will bring the complete Bible to life.

Good voices but Zero for labeling
For a book like this, the very least you could do is label it correctly so you can get around it. It’s only good for listening straight through. It’s labeled Part 1, 2, etc to 23 and the chapters are just numbers as well. So.. no idea where New Testament starts and old ends. No ability to go listen to a specific book. Etc.

Worth it!
If you are looking for a complete audio Bible, I would highly recommend this one. What stands out here is that the narrators never sound like they are just reading words on a page. By the same token, they omit the dramatic florish that I personally do not care for when I want to hear Scripture in audio. If you are expecting James Earl Jones to come thundering out of the box, you might be in for a surprise. He does a great job in setting a calm tone and letting the rich sound of his voice do the work. Same thing for Jon Sherberg. He never falls into auto pilot and manages to keep you engaged the whole way. As usual, the parts, books and chapters are not listed in such a way that you can access them with the touch of a finger. The whole Bible is simply divided into 23 separate downloads. It would have been an easy 5 star rating if it had decent navigation.

Very clear Annunciation is it do you understand no drama no big performance just reading which is exactly what I wanted I do still wish that instead of having the chapters numbered that there was a title as to which chapter starts within the chapter section let’s see if I wanted to go back to the book of James I can’t tell where it is the way this is numbered

Great Voices. Poor Divisions.
I love the voices fo Mr. Jones and Mr. Sherberg. My complaint is about the chapter divisions. It's impossible to know where to find specific portions without some hunting-n-pecking. That's tough to do at a red light.

Beautifully narrated, with maybe a few technical glitches. I now love that it can be accessed in small easily downloadable bites. Accessibility is a real problem, but much easier after I wrote my own table of contents that I keep as a text file on my ipad, which I always have anyway. it’s the best out there that I know of, overall. digital text or paper still much more suited to serious, organized study

Reads too fast!
James Earl Jones almost sounds like he’s racing. I had to check the speed setting. You want to absorb a verse, drink it in, but the words are crammed into each other. A little slower with pauses would have been great. Setting the speed at .75 doesn’t work well. Disappointing.

Would It Hurt To Have Named Browsable Chapters?
The Bible is what it is. But this vehicle lets it down. I selected this as I wanted to listen to Earl Jones narrating it. But I also want to be able to select a specific portion of the Bible. Instead, this is like a marathon start to finish without a break. 1,200 chapters numbered sequentially. Not even chapter names. The lazy chapterisation on many audible books has long been a bug bear with me. But a tome of this size takes the chaos to a whole new level.

Profound, nourishing and rich content, delivery and material. The tone and renditions are great, well delivered and insightful. The presence of the readers in the moment, carries you along the scriptural stories. God bless the readers for a thoughtful job well done. James Earl Jones changes the scriptures, not good
There's no way to contact anyone to report the scriptures that he changes. Seems like he had to fix a lot of them and they missed a few. Plus his swallowing and lip noises are quite distracting. The first guy reading the old is great. I sent this book back for refu d but it didn't happen.

difficult to hear the Mew Testament
The Old Testament was read very clearly. But James Ear Jones' voice is so low that it sounds like he is whispering which makes it difficult to understand him most ood the time even with the volume all the way up.
