Publisher's Summary

Psalm 5:3 says: At each and every sunrise you will hear my voice as I prepare my sacrifice of prayer to you. Every morning I lay out the pieces of my life on the altar and wait for your fire to fall upon my heart.

Every emotion of our hearts is reflected in the Psalms with words that express our deepest and strongest feelings. Sighing is turned to singing and trouble into triumph. The Psalms provide comfort and joy, leading us to the place where worship flows. When discouraged or downcast, we can take new strength from reading them. They charge our batteries and fill our sails. Their thunder stirs us, and sweet melodies move us into the sacred emotions of a heart on fire. Dark rain clouds of grief turn to bright rainbows of hope as we meditate on David's soul subduing songs. The Psalms are clearly poetic. They are praises placed inside poetry that spill out of a fiery passionate heart. The Psalms free us to become emotional, passionate, sincere worshippers. These 150 poetic masterpieces give us an expression of faith and worship. They become a mirror to the heart of Gods people in our quest to experience His presence.

Passionately translated with the emotion of Love

What made the experience of listening to The Psalms: Poetry on Fire the most enjoyable?

I am speechless at the expressions in this translations. Utter love, and undeniably expressing the heart felt emotions of David and the other writers as they artistically expressed their love and adoration for their God.

What did you like best about this story?

The presentation of love emotion in some of the verses, and the simplicity of language

Which scene was your favorite?

My favorites Psalms 23, 91 etc sound amazingly poetic.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Poetry on Fire

Any additional comments?

This here is amazing. I cannot wait to get the Songs of Solomon

Awesome

I know "awesome" is an over used word today but Poetry on Fire draws one closer to God and the imagery leaves you in awe of Him. I love The Passion Translation for this reason and recommend to anyone as a must read.

Fresh life from the Psalms

A refreshing listening experience. A wonderful aid in private praying and worship. Great for devotional use. I wouldn't use it alone for deep Word study, but I would definitely include it along side of other more literal translations for deep Word study.

Great Version of Psalms

I not only loved this Passion translation of Psalms, but I love the passion that Brian Simmons brought to it through his narration. I did like the addition of the music here. It wasn’t overwhelming to the text, and it was worshipful.

Way too histrionic

The language is incredibly powerful and poetic on its own. Simmons, talented though he is, brings way too much of his personality to this timeless and divine work.

Inspiring

Great reading of the psalms with sensitive music. Dropped a star as the chapters don't line up with the psalm chapters, they run on behind, otherwise perfect

excellent

loved listening to this version of the Psalms as it really amplified the heart of Our Lord God Almighty and that through prayer God does hear the prayers of those who believe on him and comes to their rescue.
