Publisher's Summary

A haunted omega, a single dad, and the world's sweetest surprise...

Music has always been the first love of singer-songwriter Kade Ashton. And it was that love that gave him the strength to break free from his arranged marriage to make a life for himself amongst the spotlights. He's living his dream, until a media scandal derails his career and leaves him hiding from the very public he used to seek out.

But his dream is still alive, and to get his career back on track, he'll take any job that gets him in front of an audience and helps him pay his bills. Even if it means performing at a wedding in that worst of all terrible places - a small town.

After his husband's death, Shane is convinced he's had his one chance at love and that part of his life is over. He has his kids, and they're enough to keep a single dad on his toes - there's no time or room for dating. Until he's asked to host the singer for his cousin's wedding. First, the sexy omega's music draws him in, then he meets the omega himself. And he realizes that, maybe, love isn't just a one-time thing.

Still, their one night together was supposed to be just that, until a positive pregnancy test brings them back together. Can they find a harmonious middle ground between small-town father and big-city star, or are they doomed to lives that are out of tune with their hearts?

My favorite book in the series is now in audio!

I LOVED this book when I first read it, so much so that it's still probably my favorite book of the series. I just loved Shane and Kade, getting to see Conner and the kids growing up, and the whole feel of family that this series provides. I'm a sucker for second chance romances, and I love that Shane found someone else to have a relationship with. He and Kade had great chemistry together, but I also love how they realistically approached how they'd deal with the baby, and how to integrate their lives together with Shane's kids.

The narrator did a great job with the voices. I loved Shanes deep, serious voice, and I loved the bit of twang to Kade's. I think that this narrator is perfect for the series!

I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.

The Omega's Surprise Baby

I loved this book. The storyline was great, you can tell the plot and all of the characters were well thought out. We learned a lot about Alphas and Omegas specifically and how they live and how they're viewed in different parts of the world they live in. The entire book kept my attention held the whole time. And This just bumped book 1 off my favorites of the series.
Alpha Shane is still dealing with the aftermath of his Omega mates passing a few years earlier. He's just trying to get through each day while raising his kids. When he finally decides it might just be time to move on with his life. Music star Omega/Kade comes to town to sing at Shane's Cousins wedding and ends up staying with Shane and his kids while in town. Kade is dealing with a Scandal and a horrible past marriage he cant seem to run from. After one night together Kade leaves town only to wind up back in Oceanport after he finds out he's pregnant. When they decide to make a go at a relationship, they have to figure out how to be strong enough together to get through all the past hurts and make their way into the future together as a family.
I have to also say I really enjoyed how the Author incorporated Shane's son Connor and his daughter Mary into this story. We get to see Conner as a 10 year old coming into his own trying to navigate all his feelings about becoming an Omega, especially with all the stigma there is with Alpha/Omegas in the world. The Author did great making sure all his feelings were brought to life and I totally Loved those parts of the story I really think it added a lot to this book.
Audio - This Audiobook is Great!! I really Enjoyed listening to this entire book, and I think its now my favorite of the first three books. John Solo did such a good job with this one this is the best narration from him I have listed to so far. I am really impressed with his narration and voices for all the different characters in this book.

surprise baby

This was an emotional rollercoaster read. Kade and Shane had hurdles to cross and healing to take place before they found their happy place. Shane was a great protector for Kade. They made each other better together. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator did a great job bringing it to life.

Love and loss ... and love again

One is struggling after the loss of his musical career.
The other is struggling with the loss of a mate.

But together they find the strength to start anew.

Ahhhh love.

Another feel good romance by Ann-Katrin Bryde and another great performance by John Solo.

so get some tea (or 🍷), sit back and enjoy.

All the feels

This story has quite the emotional rollercoaster. At the start of the book, it's heartbreaking to hear the grieving family, even years later. John does such a great job making you feel the sadness from both Connor and Shane. With Kade's career in shambles and his attempt to avoid life not working out so well, he does what he can to keep making music. Despite his reservations, he travels to Oceanport with his friend to perform at a wedding. Shane meeting Kade helps both men start to recover and starts to bring joy back to their lives.

Sweet Story

The Omega's Surprise Baby is the third book in The Oceanport Omegas series by Ann-Katrin Byrde. A famous musician with a messy past, a widower Alpha who wasnt looking for a new Omega ...and a big surprise for them both.

It is a sweet story with characters that are easy to fall in love with. A lot of sweetness, a touch of drama, a dash of humor, a hint of sexy and adorable children and babies makes this a must read.

Narrated by John Solo. Each character has their own unique voice that brings their personalities out and makes them shine. A wonderful job of bring the story to the next level of listening pleasure.

Fantastic gentle mpreg romance

I loved both small town mechanic Shane, a widowed alpha with two kids and LA musician Cade a young omega with a past. This is a gentle romance which moves at a great pace with an unplanned pregnancy, an overzealous music agent, pets and some not so nice people. The narration is as usual spot on, bringing the characters to life. Thoroughly enjoyable listen.

Very sweet story

I had mixed feelings about the end of this story. I really enjoyed how everything went down from the start... how both Kade and Shane felt something from the start, and what a stand up guy Shane was.

Kade was responsible in telling Shane about his past at every opportunity to ensure he always heard the news from Kade first.

They were level headed when it came to decisions involving the children and their families, and I just thought all of this made for a great story, until the end. I found the payoff to be kind of skeevy and for Kade to be happy about it just felt odd to me.

Otherwise, John Solo did a great job and I really enjoyed this second chance at life story!

Cute romance and thought-provoking!

I haven’t been that comfortable with Alpha / Omega stories up until now, finding them overly sentimental, but this story changed my mind. While there was certainly many cutsie moments, the focus on omega rights gave this story extra depth and gave me pause for thought - why is that people who bear children are often seen as lesser? Notorious country singer, Kade, has escaped an overly religious community and marriage where omegas have few rights. He plays at a wedding where he meets widower and father of two, Shane, who is still grieving his loss. Both men have scars and help each other heal. Through this story I’ve realised that omegaverse stories are really science fiction and that sits more comfortably with me. The two main characters and the family are extremely likeable, and the story was engaging. 🎧 John Solo knocks this out of the park. He has very distinct voices for the two main characters and the children and his expression is excellent.

as good as the ebook

The story is always full stars, because if I wouldn't like the story as ebook, I wouldn't listen to the audiobook. I can't listen to an audiobook without knowing the book, that's not possible for me.

The performance from the narrator is also very important for me. I can't listen to a lot, because my English as a non-native-speaker isn't so perfect to follow a whole story over hours, when the narrator speaks too fast or too sloppy. Normally I have to SEE the person, who is talking to me in English. It took me a little bit, to come into the narrator, but at the end, it worked. I only have to take a few breaks between. I'm just not yet finish with the book, I’m over the half, but I listen enough to give a review.
