When violinist Anna Sun accidentally achieves career success with a viral YouTube video, she finds herself incapacitated and burned out from her attempts to replicate that moment. And when her longtime boyfriend announces he wants an open relationship before making a final commitment, a hurt and angry Anna decides that if he wants an open relationship, then she does, too. Translation: She's going to embark on a string of one-night stands. The more unacceptable the men, the better.

That’s where tattooed, motorcycle-riding Quan Diep comes in. Their first attempt at a one-night stand fails, as does their second, and their third, because being with Quan is more than sex - he accepts Anna on an unconditional level that she has just started to understand herself.

However, when tragedy strikes Anna’s family, she takes on a role that she is ill-suited for, until the burden of expectations threatens to destroy her.

Anna and Quan have to fight for their chance at love, but to do that, they also have to fight for themselves.

I've loved Helen Hoang since The Kiss Quotient. this book was hard to get through. only because it was so real. it presented Ana's struggle so clearly that I had to take several breaks from listening. I'm not familiar with autism and a big part of me could not understand her struggle. I appreciate this book because not everything was fixed overnight or with only the love of a good man though seriously Quan was a sweetheart and had his own battle to overcome. Listen to this with an open heart and mind it is a beautiful book.

Another hit

This is second book that I have read from her series. I love that it shows how people are different and how it is hard and how we should be more caring and caring. I loved the love story of main characters but last part of the book was just too heavy for me and in the end heaviness remained even though it was happy ending.

Something more

Too much unnecessary details. Too graphic. She could have used the chapters to explore more other characters.

Would rather spend the time with something more rich

I loved everything about this, especially the storyline. There were a lot of important topics expressed in this book. I love books that can captivate and educate me at the same time. I hope to read more like it.

Emotionally captures the reality of not only one mental need, but many others. This is her best and most honest piece of work while addressing a real issue for women in relationships. Standing ovation!

Hoang's best work yet!

I couldn't put the story down. I usually don't like stories with multiple readers, but this book would not have been the same without them. I love this author! She dares to go places others so not.

I don’t even know what to do with myself now that it’s over! I need more Quan and Anna! They may actually be the most perfect hero and heroine I have read!

We saw Quan throughout the first two books in the series and how caring for and nurturing the people he loves is such a huge part of who he is. Meeting Anna, who has spent her life NOT being cared for. They are both at pivotal moments in their respective lives. He’s trying to find himself again after some major changes. She is lost and overwhelmed in trying to fulfill everyone else’s expectations. Quan immediately meets her exactly where she is, no expectations. His natural ability to identify and acknowledge what she needs is the support she needs to carry her voice into the other darker places in her life. But he doesn’t make excuses for her or try to do things FOR her or push her. I’m not sure how to say anything more without giving spoilers so I will just say watching their character growth was beautiful and real in the way that Helen Hoang is so incredibly good at. I was not prepared to love this book as much as I have and now I don’t know what to do with my life!

You guys this book was very well written. I felt the main characters pain. I emphathized with characters who showed up heartless and indifferent. The love story that develops is nontraditional. I love that- it is life not picture perfect. Finally sometimes you have to do wat is healthy for you. The main character stands up for herself in the last 20 chapter and it is worth the slow burn. Helen Hoang this book was so good the cadence reminded me of the bride test. The narrators made the story engaging. I listened to this over 24 hours. I took naps, made tea and continued to read.🤎🤎🤎🤎
