Way too rushed!

I enjoyed the first 3 to 4 hours of the book, it had a good pace and tell every detail of the story until who ever wrote this book got lazy and started to say 1 or 2 things about each raid. Like this person did an amazing job to describe the worlds they were in and the people K interacted with and i miss that for the second half of the story. I did enjoyed ending and wish it was a little longer.

Very enjoyable series.!!!

I greatly enjoyed this series it was perfect for the first two books… the third and final book was great also. Now for the complaints, there needed to be a forth book I’m not sure of the reasons but the third book was rushed and there where a bit of details that where left out and I would have loved to have learned more about. The ending was really nice but I just can’t get over all the details that where left out. If this author adds more books or series I’ll try them out immediately.

Excellent finish to an excellent series

My only complaint is that the ending was definitely rushed and that the ending style was not to my taste. However it was by no means a bad ending nor bittersweet ending (which I hate the most). All in all, an excellent book.

9000 years in the making.

I thought this story was going to end with some cryptic endless loop where everything is a disaster and they can’t overcome the raids ever or blah blah blah. There are times when the good guys should just win. And after 9000 years of tests, I’m glad they pulled it off.

Great read even better heard.

Narration of the book was brilliant. About halfway through the book it was story wise greatly paced however started to rapidly accelerate beyond that point. Would’ve been more interested in learning more of the character development of the characters however wonderful book.

Great action, and a series with closure

I greatly enjoyed this series, and I’m especially happy that it ends with closure — a lot of the LitRPG series seem to just peter out without bringing closure to all of their loose ends.

Great series, mediocre ending

If you like combat heavy LitRPGs with lots of stats and items and powers, this is the series for you.

Books 1 and 2 maintain a really great pace, but book 3 suffers from a lot of issues that were not present in the first two books, it's pretty clear that the author rushed things. To be honest I sort of expected this going in to book 3, by the ending of book 2 with how it had been paced so far, it was pretty obvious that one book of approximately the same length had no chance of keeping that same pace and getting to a satisfying conclusion. It really feels like the author intended this story to be 4 or 5 books long at some point, then somewhere along the way that changed. Whether they just got tired of writing the story, or ran out of ideas, or some other reason, who knows.

A lot of the progression elements simply go away for either no reason or for reasons the author just kind of makes up to justify why he's not including them anymore, K's stat growth is almost never mentioned again, black coins essentially become useless, very few gear upgrades, and we stop getting the really detailed descriptions of the raid events.

Still, despite all that, it's not bad enough that I wouldn't recommend the series. The final book, especially the second half of it, focuses almost exclusively on the overarching story which had mostly taken a backseat to the action and progression elements during the first two books, and while that's not what made this series great in my opinion, I was invested enough in the characters by the point that it started going down hill that it was still enjoyable to finish.
