Publisher's Summary

The fictional Admiral Janitorial Services has a problem: employees are leaving in droves, and they don't know what to do about it. Interpreting a series of employee surveys, the general manager comes up with a solution that walks the "thin line between genius and madness": hire a "dream manager", part life coach and part financial adviser, to help employees achieve their dreams.

For example, one woman dreams of buying her first home, while one man hopes to find more time to spend with his family. In an unexpected twist, the dream manager even helps employees find new jobs when they no longer have room to grow in their current ones.

In The Dream Manager, best-selling author Matthew Kelly teaches employers how to bridge the gap between their employees' current jobs and the futures they dream of, making them happier and more loyal to the company. Complete with a section on tools to get you going, this inspiring audiobook teaches an important lesson about self-fulfillment that applies both to the workplace and to life outside of it.

Simple and Powerful

The concept is so simple and so effective. As i listened, I had multiple “duh, why didn’t I think of that?” moments.

I wish he author read his own book, but this pro reader was really good.

Get the book, listen in a few hours and implement in your business a few hours after that.

Good Message Overall

I think the book holds some truly valuable ideas that can be applied to both work and personal life. However, I also find it a bit dishonest to present the messages of this book inside of a fictional workplace success story. I think it would have been more successful (and honest) if the author had found actual case studies where the principles of The Dream Manager had been implemented and the successes that were directly related. Or, at a minimum, market the book as a parable up front. Regardless, it’s a quick listen with some good advice. Finally, the narrator does a really nice job.

Read this or listen to this book

The Dream Manager is both inspiring and thought provoking. It’s not your ordinary manager skills book. It’s reasonably short and will impact both your personal and professional life.
