Publisher's Summary

Just be yourself! People say it all the time, but how do we actually live it?

For more than a decade, Matthew Kelly has been helping people discover the best version of themselves. Now, in Perfectly Yourself, he addresses the opportunities and obstacles that we encounter once we decide to ask life s big questions: Who am I? What am I here for? Focusing on nine powerful and practical lessons, Kelly shows us how to find lasting happiness in a changing world.

We all have an insatiable need to grow and improve: Every year millions of us buy books and attend workshops in the hope that we will lose weight, improve our relationships, conquer debt, accomplish more in our careers, achieve financial independence, reach spiritual enlightenment, become better parents or lovers, the list goes on. We yearn for progress. And yet, many of us fail to achieve the transformations we desire.

Perfectly Yourself is for anyone who has ever failed at a diet, survived the collapse of a relationship, or wondered if he or she will ever find a fulfilling career. It's a book for all of us who long to be at peace with who we are, where we are, and what we are doing, not in some distant tomorrow but here and now today.

Perfectly simple and sound ideas, thank u Mr. Kelly!

Love this book and the way it's broken down into taking 9 steps ... shows us the path To a happier and better version of our life! Daily tips, and long term ideas on organization and filling your life with good and out with the bad or negative, this is a book you'll listen to and then listen to again to really make it doable for you. It's about the process, not the knowledge. Thank you Mr. Kelly!!!

Excellent reminders of what makes us genuinely happy

Doing what we know to be right sometimes comes easy; sometimes not. This book has great value in reminding us why to choose well and the benefits of good habits. It’s also applicable to people of different faiths.

Connecting habits to happiness was the most valuable teaching of this book. It was practical and sensible.

I like that although this could be called a self improvement book, it is not self indulgent. It does not exalt self to an unhealthy level. In fact it proves that taking good care of our inner world makes us a blessing to others.

This is a book to listen to (favorite chapters) more than once. Not bad for Book Club discussion as well.

Searching for happiness

I absolutely loved this book. I would highly recommend it to those who have ever posed the question, "why can't I just be happy?" This book will help those in need start to build a path towards the happiness they've been seeking. It has valuable lessons and is faith based which is a plus in my book.

Recognizing we might be our own biggest roadblocks

I've read numerous Matthew Kelly books (including this one). For me listening brings out so much more in the book. I can hear and absorb so much more.

Perfectly Yourself is a very good book. However it just didn't reach out and grab me like Resisting Happiness, or Rediscovering the Saints.

Matthew does a fine job reading, this books was a bit more dry in his presentation. Not bad. But not great either.

would I recommend this book? probably yes. I would recommend Rediscovering Happiness first however.

Good listen

I like Resisting Happiness better, but this book is worth your while with some real pearls. It’s fantastic when an author has such a gifted voice to narrate his own books. I hope he never stops.
