💜 I absolutely loved it!!

Well what a pleasant surprise this was!! First book by this author for me, and I hoped/trusted that it would be good because Justine Eyre is a good narrator. Usually when I read a new (to me) author I don’t have high expectations because there are so many, and there are often a lot of misses before we get a hit. Well, this was a hit. I rreeaalllyyy like when the main characters are not in relationship turmoil the entire dang book. I’d much rather they be drawn together and there be a bad guy, than to have the them challenged over and over and over again until we finally have a connection and a HEA. This book gave me what I wanted. Also, we often can see the storyline as we go along. We can see who’s going to do what and have figured out most of whats coming, but I ttoottaalllyyy did NOT with this book! It was kind of a bummer in a way because I had really decided the bad guy was a certain character. There are so many possibilities and I did have everyone guilty at some point but the “bad guy” was definitely a surprise! The secondary characters were super engaging and I am really disappointed that the series isn’t one of continuation from this first. But, thats ok. Justine Eyre did a fantastic job of keeping track of quite a significant amount of character voices and she did a phenomenal job at it!
Totally worth my 2 for 1 sale credit! Looking forward to more by this author and definitely moving forward in this series!

Just became a favorite

I enjoyed this book tremendously. Very glad that the heroine isn't a weak, confused, flaky girl that keeps making the stupidest choices. The banter between the main characters kept a smile on my face and I also enjoyed the dialogues with all of the characters. You have to love the adorable aunt Mabel an the smart little Nicholas. All that with my favorite female narrator. I intend to keep it in my library to listen again and again.

So refreshing

The only complaints is the narrator can only do 1 male tone. Otherwise the book is fantastic. The main character stays strong without turning weak and ridiculous. The story line kept my interest all the way to the end.

EXCELLENT

Really well done first book. Now going on to book two. One of the things I liked best was the fact that Sophie NEVER doubted him. So refreshing to have them both actually believe in each other as they fall in love. But Sophie's steadfastness was a very nice turn. Highly recommend. Justine Eyre was great.
