Publisher's Summary

Three sinfully handsome dukes, three scores to settle, three hearts about to meet their matches. All in one thrilling new trilogy from New York Times best-selling author Madeline Hunter.

Notorious nobleman seeks revenge

Name and title: Adam Penrose, Duke of Stratton. Affiliation: London's elite Society of Decadent Dukes. Family history: Scandalous. Personality traits: Dark and brooding, with a thirst for revenge. Ideal romantic partner: a woman of means, with beauty and brains, willing to live with reckless abandon. Desire: Clara Cheswick, gorgeous daughter of his family's sworn enemy.

Faint of heart need not apply

Clara may be the woman Adam wants, but there's one problem: She's far more interested in publishing her women's journal than getting married - especially to a man said to be dead-set on vengeance. Though with her nose for a story, Clara wonders if his desire for justice is sincere - along with his incredibly unnerving intention to be her husband. If her weak-kneed response to his kiss is any indication, falling for Adam clearly comes with a cost. But who knew courting danger could be such exhilarating fun?

Dangerous Dukes....

Duke #1 has his tale revealed in this first book of a new trilogy. I found it well written, attention grabbing and entertaining. The narration was excellent and the heat quite hot!!!! All in all a good book I will listen to again.

Disappointing

Not one of this author's best works. The story had an interesting premise, and the conclusion was unexpected, thus providing a nice twist to the plot. For me, however, the story depended too much on the sexual encounters and not enough on other plot elements. I also found the narrator of the audiobook adequate, but less than inspired in her performance.

DNF due to narrator; switching to ebook

DNF due to narrator; switching to ebook. Having already read this first book, I wanted to re-read/listen & then complete the trilogy in audio b/c of Roslyn Landor. Alas, I didn't realise that Charlotte Gray narrated this one. My bad. To be fair, Ms. Gray's narration is doable--I've certainly tried/listened to worse. For me, her pacing was too slow & when sped up, the pitch became too high for long-term listening. Didn't even make it to the 30-minute mark that I normally give to adjust to a narrator, especially when I can read the entire book in @ 4hrs.

Dangerous duke? Dangerous narrator.

Would you consider the audio edition of The Most Dangerous Duke in London to be better than the print version?

No. the narrator pauses between sentences which becomes very tiresome. The characters were hard to distinguish. I would have been better off reading the book rather than listening. I gave the narrator too many stars. On second thought I would give her two.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Adam and Clara. Sweet love story.

What does Charlotte Gray bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Frustration!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No, perhaps with Rosalyn Landor narrating.

Any additional comments?

Loved the story and the characters. Sort of a Romeo and Juliet twist to it.

boring storyline!!!

I am certain I can not finish this book. Predictable, unrealistic and uninteresting! Not a book I can recommend.

Needs more characterization

I am tired of a strong woman (supposedly) relenting to sexual advances. The book was too long- could have been condensed. Make the woman strong and more likable male characters. Needs more substance and less disjointed!

Couldn't get past chapter 3

I've listened to the other 2 books in this series and enjoyed. I've made 3 attempts to listen to this one.....the narrator is just not right for this book and for the very strong characters. Too bad because I really wanted to hear the story.

Heroes Worthy of the title.

I love the main characters of this novel down to the meddling dowager. Great romance, great maturity and growth. Sexy scenes done right.. Keep the stories coming.

Slow start

This book had a slow start and the characters were not interesting. If you can get beyond the beginning chapters you may enjoy it. Not for me. I do love this author so I’ll look for other titles.
