Publisher's summary

Sabrina finds it difficult to work on her latest suspense novel when her Aunt Rowe's antics keep tying up her thoughts. This time Rowe and her fun-loving friends have decided to compete in the upcoming Texas Hill Country Senior Pro Rodeo. The problem is these women have little to no experience with lassos, bulls, or even horseback riding.

Before Sabrina can keep the stubborn seniors from mounting their steeds, she's sidetracked by a bigger problem. An uppity local business owner is found dead in an accident - right after a black cat was seen in her office. While the townsfolk think the bad luck cat has struck again, Sabrina suspects there might be something more murderous afoot. With a twisted killer on the loose, she'll have to round up clues quickly before she or her aunt are steered straight into the path of danger....

Enjoying this series

I was glad when this series became available in audio. I really like the characters - love the cat. Aunt Ro is still a little too selfish and self-absorbed, but all the other characters are very well written and I am really enjoying this series. Moving on to Book 3.

Fun read!

Mysterious, funny and suspenseful all at the same time. It keeps you guessing up to the last minute. Looking forward to the next adventures of the black cat and the lovely citizens of Lavender!

Not For Me

I gave this series a second chance and regretted it. I won't get another book in this series. The characters are flat and make stupid decisions. I couldn't get passed chapter 10.

NO!!!

This is the last book I will read in this series. I find the book silly and unrealistic. The lead character is annoying. She accuses her friend of stealing her cat, then, tries to calm her down and advise her not to make a scene. She states that her cat is known for finding his way into the city on his own, but still believes that Pearl took the cat without permission. She states that she loves her grandmother but treats her like a mentally incapacitated child. She also has an over inflated since of her own intelligence. She makes several bad decisions and can't write unless the cat is nearby. Furthermore, the people in the town over react to black cats way more than necessary. I will not be reading the next book.
