Publisher's Summary

Pretty Little Liars meets Medium in this fast-paced thriller and fantastic YA debut from a New York Times bestselling author.

Maddie Fynn is a shy high school junior, cursed with an eerie intuitive ability: she sees a series of unique digits hovering above the foreheads of each person she encounters. Her earliest memories are marked by these numbers, but it takes her father's premature death for Maddie and her family to realize that these mysterious digits are actually death dates, and just like birthdays, everyone has one.

Forced by her alcoholic mother to use her ability to make extra money, Maddie identifies the quickly approaching death date of one client's young son, but because her ability only allows her to see the when and not the how, she's unable to offer any more insight. When the boy goes missing on that exact date, law enforcement turns to Maddie.

Soon, Maddie is entangled in a homicide investigation, and more young people disappear and are later found murdered. A suspect for the investigation, a target for the murderer, and attracting the attentions of a mysterious young admirer who may be connected to it all, Maddie's whole existence is about to be turned upside down. Can she right things before it's too late?

"Edge of your seat...could not stop listening."

This story was different for Victoria Laurie. I was pulled in from the beginning. I was both horrified and intrigued. If you like a good mystery you will enjoy this.

    "Interesting tewist"

I enjoyed the characters. The author pulled me into the story line and I found myself caring about the main character. That’s a nice change from many. I liked the revelations and felt the story line progressed well. Glad I read this one.

    "Sweet and Dangerous"

This has to be my favourite audiobook I’ve listened to so far. I loved that there was an element of sci-fi but it was also kept very realistic. The narrator was fantastic and made it easy to identify the characters.

"When; I thought it was a bit slow to start"

I began this book several times before actually settling down to read it. I thought it was going to prove to be something I Did not like.
Once I got into the FBI investigation
I began to really enjoy the book. I was certain that I had figured out "Who Done It" several chapters before the end of the book. I was truly surprised to discover that the killer was not who I had guessed.
That does not often happen. The book was a real mail biter, one of those that are impossible to put down
    Very Enjoyable!!!

    "Took a chance and lost"
What would have made When better?

Primarily, it would have been better if I were a young teenage girl with banal aspirations.

I like taking a chance on stories targeted towards different demographics, and have often been pleasantly surprised. I was quite hopeful with an award winning book.

During the story I kept thinking of the daughter in the "24" TV series. She kept on doing so many stupid things, you were just hoping fate would take her.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from When?

    Too many to enumerate.
