To save the life of the boy she loves, Jacinda did the unthinkable: She betrayed the most closely guarded secret of her kind. Back home, Jacinda is greeted with hostility and must work to prove her loyalty for both her sake and her family's. Among the few who will even talk to her are Cassian, the pride's heir apparent, who has always wanted her, and her sister, Tamra, who has been forever changed by a twist of fate. Jacinda knows that she should forget Will and move on, that if he managed to remember and keep his promise to find her, it would only endanger them both. Yet she clings to the hope that someday they will be together again. When the chance arrives to follow her heart, will she risk everything for love?
In best-selling author Sophie Jordan's dramatic follow-up to Firelight, forbidden love burns brighter than ever.
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
I would recommend it, but with a warning. Some parts are extremely frustrating. They are many times when the main character could defend herself, but does not. She also find a way to blame herself for EVERYTHING. I'm not a fan of self loathing characters. The twin sister was also extremely irritating. Overall, it's a good story though. The first book was better.
Would you listen to another book narrated by Therese Plummer?
Yes
Could you see Vanish being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
Yes

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
Nothing could have made this better. It must be young adult or something, although I didn't see it marked as such.
What was most disappointing about Sophie Jordan’s story?
Really not much story line and very repetitive.
Any additional comments?
Juvenile storyline, writing and overall don't waste a credit or money.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
a less predictable/cliché story (romance), and a less headstrong heroine
Has Vanish turned you off from other books in this genre?
yes and no. I like paranormal, but this series is yet another example of the many many stories that build an interesting world with good characters and then fill it with a mediocre and predictable romance.
What aspect of Therese Plummer’s performance would you have changed?
Have listened to several of her performances, and she only has one male voice, which she uses for all males in every book. So too bad it isn't a very good male voice, to me it sounds like a 40-50 year old man wearing a suit, which is a problem when the hero is 18 and still in high school. Otherwise her narration is pleasant to listen to.

I was surprised by the negative reviews! I thought it was a perfect sequel to a very exciting trilogy! Getting an inside look at the pride, the place where Jacinda should feel the most comfortable, the most at home. However, all the hatred and accusing sentiments toward her for revealing what she is to hunters and, even worse, her falling in love with one! I can feel the anxiety and turmoil Jacinda goes through! If I didn't listen to it I would be skipping the pages just to find out what happens next!

Where does Vanish rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Well, I've listened to too many audio books to make that assessment, but I will say it is definitely one of the best YA books I've listened to.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Jacinda, she's what makes this series.
Which scene was your favorite?
I think the beginning sene, because it picks up right where Firelight leaves off, and an exciting thing happens that is somewhat unexpected, at least not at the beginning of the novel.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
It made me one of those people at the movies that tell the person on screen what to do, out of suspense, not something I normally do.
Any additional comments?
Sophie Jordan is a great writer she makes you feel what her characters are feeling, though I wished the novel was a bit longer, it has me pining for the third and final novel in this trilogy.
Also Therese Plummer did a fantastic job as always, she really brings this series to life.

This story feels totally unfinished... It is not a complete story in itself. It is a short book that stops mid-plot pointlessly just so there can be a sequel people will pay for. Cheap trick as far as i am concerned and lazy writing. Sewuels are fine but each book should be a comlete story in some way. This is not, glaringly so. For that reason, i will not buy the sequel and could not enjoy the book as that trumps everything else. Deeply unsatisfying

Would you try another book from Sophie Jordan and/or Therese Plummer?
I've read quite a few books by Sophie Jordan that I really loved, so I'm sure I will. While I'm not about to go and look for books performed by Therese Plummer, I'm not going to skip a book because she's the reader.
Any additional comments?
It is possible that I would have liked this better if I had read the book instead of listened to it, but after devouring the first one, I found this one disappointing. The plot didn't feel as well thought out as in the first one. The love triangle plot felt a little forced and some of the events just seem random as opposed to plot driven, (for example - at one point a bear shows up which forces the main character to explain something to her hero that she didn't want to tell him making the confession feel unnatural at that juncture in the story). I'm generally a fan of Sophie Jordan (I've read a lot of her historical romances and some of her paranormal fiction) but this just didn't grab (never mind hold) my interest.

Why do you make me spend more money on another book?
The way you are left hanging is ridiculous...that's the YA genre for you. Remind me to stay away next time lest I get caught up in another story. LoL
most of the time i get bored reading a series, but so far this book is great!!!
Loved it! Starting the next book now. :) I would definitely recommend everyone read this book. Everything about it is awesome.
