Publisher's summary

Beautiful Creatures: Booktrack Edition adds an immersive musical soundtrack to your audiobook listening experience!*

Lena Duchannes is unlike anyone the small Southern town of Gatlin has ever seen, and she's struggling to conceal her power, and a curse that has haunted her family for generations. But even within the overgrown gardens, murky swamps, and crumbling graveyards of the forgotten South, a secret cannot stay hidden forever.

Ethan Wate, who has been counting the months until he can escape from Gatlin, is haunted by dreams of a beautiful girl he has never met. When Lena moves into the town's oldest and most infamous plantation, Ethan is inexplicably drawn to her and determined to uncover the connection between them.

In a town with no surprises, one secret could change everything.

*Booktrack is an immersive format that pairs traditional audiobook narration to complementary music. The tempo and rhythm of the score are in perfect harmony with the action and characters throughout the audiobook. Gently playing in the background, the music never overpowers or distracts from the narration, so listeners can enjoy every minute. When you purchase this Booktrack edition, you receive the exact narration as the traditional audiobook available, with the addition of music throughout.

love the background

I really enjoyed the background music and sounds it really made me feel like I was a part of the story, like the good ol days when I had the time to read a books and get lost in the story. The story of the book does take a awhile to get going, and does drag on at points. The narrator does a good job at voicing Ethan and adding the dramatics when needed to his tone, a very nice change. As per usual with most audiobooks I have annoyances with how the narrators do the other voices, in this case it's easier to ignore it due to how his voice pulls you in. Now after hearing the end, having both narrators voice their parts and adding in the background music and such it would just be like a book turned into a movie with no changes to the story/plot/narrative.
I am a bit disappointed that that last of series doesn't have this same option to listen.

I enjoyed it very much but...

I really liked the accent that the narrator put but I think that it would of been better if it had another voice since there were too many characters and there is so much that you can do with one person. So because of that I found it difficult knowing who was talking to whom. overall very good but I believe it could of been better.

Perfect book and perfect music

I had read this book many times before, now listening in this booktrack edition was a totally inmersive experience.

I've been reading that some people disgusting to listen with music background but I belive in this case the music they put it fit perfectly to create the environment that happen in the book.

Personally I enjoy this format in this book, music is so mysterious and dreamy that almost make you feel you are inside the story.

I listened differents bookstrack and not all of them are good, because sometimes music doesn't match with the book or simply because is the kind of book that don't need any music, so, this one it's just amazing, I hope the whole saga is in booktrack edition *-*

Fantastic Audiobook!

Such a great way to get through a long story. The music was quite eerie and dreamlike but really added to the story. Kevin Collins did a great job to keep the intensity up throughout.

Better then I expected!

Once I started I couldn't stop. The book is different from the movie... I would've preferred they stick to the original. Definitely going to continue the series!

Hurts my soul

Kevin is such an amazing narrator! The book and the movie will always be comfort pieces for me. Something about the series in general is just amazing.

The love Lena and Ethan had for each other.

Great Story & Characters

The story was well developed and had you engulfed with anticipation one minute & laughing at the scarcasm.
The Narrator was fantastic and would have given 5 stars but the music was awful and played through the whole book was like scratching fingernails on a chalkboard.

Wish there was a way to block the music out and just have the narration.

This book is so COOL!

I am so interested with books from the young adult, fantasy genre that has magic, different world dimensions, different kind of mythical creatures, witches, persons with powers, vampires etc. And this book satisfied my fantasy!
I like the characters in this book and how the author made this in a guy's perspective. Most of the books i read is in the girl's perspective.

From what i noticed from reading lots of books, girl's are more emotional so they have lots of thoughts and sentiments. Sometimes they overthink because it's their nature. But because this book is the opposite it's more refreshing and fascinating, cause it makes you think how guys think. It made me understand how a guy loves a girl what are the risks a guy is willing to take just because of his one true love.

PS
The surprise in the end made me cry for days! I still can't get over it. Get ready for that! (NO spoilers)

I really like the story of the book and the soundtrack made it more interesting. This is my first time listening to a book with soundtrack, it's a great idea i really enjoyed how this was made! The soundtrack made it more enjoyable especially when their powers are showcased. I'm more invested in the story and it feels as if i'm really in Ethan's perspective.

Narrator's voice is also spot on. He interpreted Ethan better than i imagined.

Overall, very amazing story and narration supported with a tastefully placed soundtrack! :D
I'm looking forward to more booktrack versions of the next sequels.
I saw that they already have a booktrack version of Beautiful Darkness already. I'm so excited to start that book.

GREAT book, especially for those who like a bit of everything!!

Great story, fast-moving and a bit of everything: thriller, supernatural, history, drama, comedy, mystery and a little romance. Great for readers of year 13-80. The narration was some of the BEST I've ever heard. Kevin T. Collins was fabulous with all voices and character uniqueness.
