Publisher's summary

My whole world changed when I stepped inside the academy. Nothing is right about this place or the other students in it. Here I am, a mere mortal among gods...or monsters. I still can't decide which of these warring factions I belong to, if I belong at all. I only know the one thing that unites them is their hatred of me.

Then there's Jaxon Vega. A vampire with deadly secrets who hasn't felt anything for a hundred years. But there's something about him that calls to me, something broken in him that somehow fits with what's broken in me.

Which could spell death for us all.

Because Jaxon walled himself off for a reason. And now someone wants to wake a sleeping monster, and I'm wondering if I was brought here intentionally - as the bait.

Classic tropes but overall great

This book has so many good parts it’s hard to choose, chapter 67’s twist has me on my toes!

One complaint I do have is that she(grace) is a little…dumb. The classic girl who’s parents are gone, she’s in a new world, two really hot boys like her, and gets in harms way, but she has good character development, grows to be a stronger person. Lol face it we all like a damsel in distress anyways.

The voice actors are pretty good, just a little one note sounding. Flat tone. But other then that I’d listen to these actors again.

Overall, just the book I’ve been wanting since I finished Twilight and The Red Queen. I would recommend this to 16+. But that’s coming from a 19 year old girl, I know when I was younger I read much more explicit content lol.

Fantastic!

I absolutely loved this book and cannot wait to start the next one right away! Normally I can guess and predict what happens, but not in this book. It did a great job surprising you, especially at the end!

sensational

This takes supernatural romance to a cute and totally relatable level. I am from Alaska and having the accuracy of some of the moments in the setting was just amazing. great, great book. I can't wait until the sequel!!!

great book good reader except 1 thing..

i was reading along and 1 part was 100% different than in the book. not just a word which happens, and i dont care about, but it was more than 1 paragraph. not sure why that is....

Amazing story, but language is a Barrier

Over all the book had a great story that sucked me right in. I loved the author's sense of humor, the fact that she pokes fun at her own genre, also the jokes. My oh my, did I love the jokes. My only struggle was the use abbreviate slang in narration instead of just spelling things out. Maybe it's because I am old, but the abbreviations in narrator pulled me out of the story, because my brain was like "Qhat the hell?!" Using AF and OMG in narration instead of "as F***" and "Oh my God!" made the book a little unappealing for me.

The story is awesome though. I am glad I over looked it, even thought it made me grit my teeth. Thankfully, the author uses a more traditional writing approach in the second and third books. I will say Crush and Covet are so good, that is is absolutely worth the language barrier struggle I had in Crave.
