This has always been my least favorite book in the song of the lioness. It's still good, but it just drags a little for me. Listening to it on audio really helped me get through it with enjoyment.

I really enjoyed the beginning and middle of this novel but the ending was a little disappointing. Having Duke Roger come back again. Her brother Thom dying was heartbreaking. I really wanted him to live and grow to be a great wizard. Alanna and George's relationship is just adorable. He really saw her all together instead of just loving parts of her. He knew she needed freedom to live unlike her other suitors.

I first read this book back when I was I school and many times after. The audio version is just amazing and brings it to life and I have listened to it many times since it is so well done.
