Publisher's Summary

I crawled into Ryan Jensen’s bed that first night by accident. I barely knew him. I thought it was his sister’s bed - her room. It took seconds to realize my error, and I should've left... I didn’t. I didn’t jump out. I didn’t get embarrassed. I relaxed.

And that night, in that moment, it was the only thing I craved. I asked to stay. He let me, and I slept. The truth? I never wanted to leave his bed. If I could've stayed forever, I would have. He became my sanctuary. Because - four hours earlier - my twin sister killed herself.

One of Tijan's Better Books!

This book was typical of Tijan's writing style and based on high school aged kids, but it was not her typical style of spoiled, over indulgent children with daddies black amex cards. The writing was serious, the subject intense, the struggle, therapy and hurdles were real and not made lightly. Truly one of her better bookd by far. I would recommend it for anyone who is looking for a girl meets boy, boy has morals and values, girl has some issues but so does the boy and together without harming the other - they come out from the darkness into the light.

Wow!❤️

Ok so this book surprised me. At
first I was hesitant to read it but as I went along I got sucked in more and more into the story. I liked most of the characters and their growth throughout the book. I did sometimes want to punch the main character in the face but overall she was very relatable. I like how they handle the suicide topic and as some who is currently copying with depression i related to a lot of the sentiment behind this. Honestly the book was a lot better than I expected and that ending was just wow. I feel like the ending was what sold me. It changed the narrative of the book and it really made me think about all the little moments that seemed not as heavy. Over all I really recommend it if you want a fulfilling emotional roller coaster with a small side of dark comedy.

Heart wrenchingly beautiful!

Oh my! What a truly beautiful story about healing. The ending brought a fresh wave of tears to my eyes. Mackenzie’s journey is filled with pain, and watching her heal, and the way Tijan writes her story, seers your soul. It’s beautiful.

This story is so very real and filled with raw emotions. It’s intense and filled with pain and love and very emotional. Tijan’s beautiful writing makes you feel deeply. She writes in a way that you connect with every character. I felt Mackenzie’s pain, I wanted to lash out at the mean girls, I felt her parent’s grief, I felt Ryan’s pain and love and support, I felt Cora’s uncertainty in how she fit in, I felt everything. It’s written fantastically! I loved Mackenzie and Ryan’s connection and the way two broken souls could find solace in each other and help each other heal. They are truly beautiful. And the growth of the friendship between Mackenzie and Cora warms your heart.

This story held me captive from the first page. Tijan weaves a sincere and beautiful story that is sure to leave you breathless. A must read!

Ryan's bed is a safe haven

Mac's twin sister has killed her self! Her parents left her and her little brother with a family, none of them really know. In the middle of the night, she confused the doors and landed in Ryan's bed where she found peace.

So it began!

Instead of mourning together, the family is falling slowly apart. The little brother gets shipped to a boarding school, the parents bury themselves in work and they don't want to look at Mac because she looks the same as her sister but isn't.

Ryan helps her deal and slowly heal, but first she falls apart.

The narration is great!
Therese Plummer is perfect as Mac. She gets her attitude perfect without sounding monotone!
