Publisher's summary
Rebecca Soler, narrator of Marissa Meyer's The Lunar Chronicles, returns to narrate this program.
“Narrator Rebecca Soler delivers a take-no-prisoners performance for the third title in The Lunar Chronicles. Her instinctive delivery of Meyer's humor makes the story an addictive listen. Series fans and new listeners will be equally entranced.” —AudioFile Magazine on Cress
Long before she was the terror of Wonderland—the infamous Queen of Hearts—she was just a girl who wanted to fall in love.
Long before she was the terror of Wonderland, she was just a girl who wanted to fall in love. Catherine may be one of the most desired girls in Wonderland, and a favorite of the unmarried King of Hearts, but her interests lie elsewhere. A talented baker, all she wants is to open a shop with her best friend. But according to her mother, such a goal is unthinkable for the young woman who could be the next queen.
Then Cath meets Jest, the handsome and mysterious court joker. For the first time, she feels the pull of true attraction. At the risk of offending the king and infuriating her parents, she and Jest enter into an intense, secret courtship. Cath is determined to define her own destiny and fall in love on her terms. But in a land thriving with magic, madness, and monsters, fate has other plans.
In Heartless, Marissa Meyer's stand-alone novel, the New York Times-bestselling author dazzles us with a prequel to Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.

L'Era dell'Anarchia avrebbe potuto proseguire all'infinito. Poi, quasi all'improvviso... la speranza. Depressing.
Spoilers: If you're looking for a book more akin to Cinder or Cress, don't look here. No happy endings or final uplift, just a very dark origin story. The main characters are also a bit more annoying than usual, I honestly felt like the "will they or wont they" story could have used editing, it was the same thing over and over. I did care about the characters, but make no mistake, this is a tragedy, not a fairy tale.

Absolutely astounding!!! Meyer does it again!!!
Where does Heartless rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
At the top!!
Who was your favorite character and why?
Hard to say!!! I think Catherine was an amazing character!!! Such a beautiful display of what losing true love can do to ones heart and ultimately their soul
Which scene was your favorite?
The tea party by far.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
If only....
Any additional comments?
Meyer's imagination is absolutely phenomenal. I have listened to all her books and loved each character and story so differently. She is truly an inspired artist and craftsman. A talent among talents. And the narrator should be commended!!! Phenomenal job as well!!

loved it!
i was worried because I've been pretty bad reviews and everyone said that it wasn't as good as The Lunar Chronicles which honestly I didn't think was all that spectacular after broke too I mean book one and two have nice amazing hook and by book 3 i instanty regretted buying the entire series. this one was like totally worth every cent the most amazing story line for a villain that everyone seems to think of as a laughing stock like based on recent movies and I think this gave her like such an amazing life and I love that not all fairy tales and with a happy ending

Reminiscent of Fairest.
I liked this book. It made me hungry, it made me laugh it gave a better idea of where all the characters came from. It was like Fairest in how it shows how different the Queen of Hearts used to be & how different everything could have been.

Amazing
Because this is a prequel, you walk in with a lot of foreshadowing. Despite knowing how it ends from Alice and Wonderland, there were still so many twists. You can't help but cheer the main character on. As someone who is not a huge Alice fan, I did not except this book to be this good. But it was amazing. Romance, comedy, thrills, magic and adventure

Oh My!
This is a Wonderland unlike any before. This is whimsically amusing and brutally heartbreaking. What drives a queen to forever terrorize a kingdom? That is brilliantly detailed here. What a well written adventure that will steal your heart away.
I know that I lost my heart to both Jest and Cath. I so wanted a happily ever after for them.
Raven was such a wonderfully creative addition as were all the twisty turns and cleverly crafted characters. I found Cheshire both devious and a bit disturbing. Hatta was complex and watching him fall into madness was eyebrow raising.
This is unputdownable glee and it's going to stick with you, long after you've read those last few memorable words. There's just something so incredibly intriguing about the making of a villain. And this was thrillingly entertaining while it painted a story of heartbreaking loss and thirts for vengeance. Who could ever blame the queen again?!

better than the Lunar Series books.
I loved this book. It was so fun to see how everything came together. I need to listen to Alice in Wonderland again.

WHAT A BOOK!!! I loved this books so much.
This book is amazing. I never cried with a book as I did with this one. Cath was only a girl who wanted to open a Bakery.
Rebecca Soler's narration was marvelous. 💛
