Loved the ending

This was a great ending to the Trylle Trilogy. Everything was all wrapped up with a bow on top. Even though I thought the series started off weak, it ended strong and overall I really enjoyed it. If you love HEA endings this is the series for you.

A Wonderful Book 3 of 3

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes and I have. I recommend this book series to anyone that likes a good fun and quick read. Especially if they are into fairy tale stuff.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Ascend?

I loved the last few chapters that left a the reader feeling complete and not guessing about what happened after.

What about Therese Plummer’s performance did you like?

I loved her entire performance.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Ya the queen in the end was moving before she died.

Any additional comments?

I strongly suggest this book series to all readers! It was amazing and I hope to find similar books!

Excellent Series

A very good series that has a spin that keeps you coming back for more.

Once again the dialog between characters was difficult as it seemed they never get to the point but continue to talk in circles like everyone assumes everyone knows what is going on. Other than that I found the book delightful.

Wendy is faced with the loss of her mother, the overbearing force of her farther killing off her kingdom and trying to please people who have no faith in her. Making sacrifices is not easy when the mass is not on her side. But running away is not an option anymore and she tries to figure out how to save her kingdom without the loss of life to her people.

Wonderful Ending

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes. The Trylle Trilogy was incredible. Amanda really knows how to captivate those who love phantasy stories. I could not wait to listen to the the last book of the serie. The three books were wonderfully written and captivate you. The ending was amazing.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Ascend?

It was when Wendy finally admits loving Loki and spends the night with Loki during a time of a lot despair.

Have you listened to any of Therese Plummer’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes. Is listened to Torn. In both cases the performance was excellent. It was the best performance from the books I heard so far.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes

Well Done

What did you like best about Ascend? What did you like least?

Everything to do with Loki because he's my favorite. Finn.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

I don't know. Maybe change a few things about Finn and what happened between him and Wendy.

What does Therese Plummer bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I really like Therese. It's easy for me to tell who is who and she brings emotion to the characters.

Do you think Ascend needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

Nope. Story ended just fine.

Trylle community

Ending was a little slow. Overall story line was interesting. Like author's story world but some of the story parts were a little hard to believe in.

Darker magic

Wendy thought she still had plenty of time to train and learn the way of the Trylle, but her mother knows she doesn’t. As Elora weakens, she tries to prepare her daughter to become queen. The new queen will not only face the prospect of war, but she will have to choose between her heart and her duty. Can she reconcile the two?

Aahhh! It all makes sense now! I must admit that I wasn't too thrilled with the turn of events in book two, and the resolution wasn't quite what I expected in book three, but it was satisfying. I enjoyed that Hocking didn't go with the expected and she even managed to throw in some relevant societal issues and moral lessons in a fun way.

There was a lot more depth and emotion in this installment. I especially loved seeing the softer side of Elora. Watching Wendy come into her own and realize that she could be self-sufficient, seeing Loki try to be protective and yet understand that Wendy was strong enough to stand alone - these are some of the highlights I particularly enjoyed.

The magic was still there, although with a decidedly darker taint than the first two novels. I struggled with the end a little, but only because of personally preference. I generally like the author to leave a bit to my imagination, but Hocking wrapped up every thread very tightly.

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this series and love the author’s writing style. I’ll definitely seek out more of her works. I also have to say that I LOVE the covers of these books - they are enchanting and magical!

Surprisingly good

Not what I would have inspected, but surprisingly good. Starts off slow. Maintains a steady pace. Funny and unusual.

Great end to the trilogy

I loved this final instalment - yet again, the narration was spot on, the voices unique and lending personality to each of the voices. Recommended listen as a more mature YA story.

Cheesy

I enjoyed the first two books of this trilogy but was left thoroughly disappointed by this one, it rushed through the storyline, lacked depth and felt almost as if the author already working on something else and this was just a quick goodbye...
