The shadow of betrayal lurks in every corner.
Adam has taken control as the new Lord of Penumbria, defeated two fearsomely strong Ghosts, and stolen multiple abilities using his new Talent. Now that he's established his power base, he wants to do everything he can to improve his city's dismal situation, hoping to give his subjects an easier life.
If he's given the chance. A diplomatic trip to the Puppet Mines goes awry when a specter from his past comes back to haunt him. Adam is summoned to meet with the Painted World's Emperor, who is offering to legitimize the upstart Lord's position.
Yet Adam knows it won't be that simple. Uncertain of who to trust, he'll have to watch his back–lest he find a knife sticking out of it. Despite his best efforts, war might be inevitable.
So be it. They may have started this fight...but Adam will be the one to finish it.
Book 2 in this brand new Isekai LitRPG adventure from KamikazePotato, the bestselling author of An Outcast in Another World, together with Rafael Kalleen.
About the Series: Join Adam in this weak-to-strong progression fantasy where victories are difficult but earned. The plot has consistent forward momentum, and the story's cast of characters is fully fleshed-out, each with their own struggles. Fight scenes are high-octane brawls that involve creative applications of Adam's abilities.

Talent Killer has taken the foundation that Skill Thief laid and built upon it expertly. Adam is so relatable, at least to me Tenver pulls at my heartstrings and Solara is pretty neat too but least favorite of the three. I personally have been more drawn to Tenvers and Adam’s stories and I’m awaiting the next installment with bated breath.
The magic system continues to intrigue me and stay unique and the plot is equally as captivating. I found the pacing to be great even if it does read a little on the slower side than what I’m used to and Wayne’s performance has grown on me as the series has progressed.
I highly recommend this series and will happily and excitedly continue on. Now I just need to wait for Potato’s third series to come to audible, that one has captured my attention and I really wanna read it but I can only really listen to longer books/products due to some eye issues so please hurry up and bring it over!
