Awesome!

Im tired of boring super righteous MCs that have no substance, this MC is a bit unhinged and funny in a morbid way, it’s been fun to listen to his inner thoughts and other people pov when interacting with the MC, one of the best credits I have spent faint wait for the other audiobooks to come out!

Enjoyable

Over all a good story, the narrators didn’t do bad. Not sure if Matt was the correct choice for this story. Little to upbeat for a Dark Lord, Erin did great and I give them credit, the duel narration is always nice. It’s worth the listen and beware this book is 9 hours not 10. One hour of another book.

The best part of anti-hero!

The narration was impeccable. The story was incredibly engaging and was just what I was looking for. I have read numerous anti-hero regression novels and this novel balances learned power and main characters current abilities beautifully. This novel goes up there on my top 10. I will be purchasing the books as they come out!

Pretty okay

A very enjoyable listen, magic system is extremely unique and interesting. Technique could use a bit of work but not bad per-say, just unrefined.

Seriously bad protagonist...

The protagonist is imbecilic and immature, his growth as a character is non-existent. he makes mountains out of mole hills and treats seriously distainful behavior with non-chalants. This is the kind of character that shouldn't have a modicum of power. Shouldn't he be over 200 years old? Why hasn't he retained any wisdom after so long?

Worth it!

This was really enjoyable. I liked it so much I purchased the e-books and completed book two which was even better than the first book.

Bad

Every character is impulsive and unnecessarily antagonistic towards the MC. Even the teachers behave with absolutely no tact, respect, or maturity. If the academy has rules, they seem more like a suggestion in this book.

I think the MC is suppose to be an anti hero, but he is about as evil as Gru from Despicable me or Megamind. He talks evil-ish but he only constantly reminds you of how evil he is by his deep dark deeds of his past life.

Also, while it’s not really a negative, but rather something I just didn’t like, the weird compulsion trait every familiar has is just a weird concept to me. It genuinely reminds me of that one forum trend where people would pick their own super power but the first comment would pick the drawback. In general I’m not a fan of scripted or explicitly stated drawbacks in anything. It’s annoyingly common in Litrpg’s.

There are a lot of books out there that I don’t like due to personal preferences, but this book just feels low quality. Like one those wuxia or xanxia novels but instead took a stab at western fantasy.

good read

I would hope after 200+ years of life the mc would not be so emotional and obvious about that chip but the rest of the book was great, solid world building smooth characters transition. Just to much I will get them in the end due to bullying in my past life for me.

terrible MC

the story itself is generic and mediocre. the worst part is the characters, the mc isn't evil just self important and pointlessly blood thirst, in a world where all the other characters are hostile to the point of stupidity, with no rhyme or reason.
