No one leaves a negotiation happy.

But wounded pride aside, Sylver was overjoyed with how everything turned out.

He left with a talented clairvoyant, an army of highly skilled dark elves, a talking golden crowbar, the finger of the greatest lich to ever exist, and all it cost him was a fraction of a fraction of a century.

Sadly Eira didn’t simply stop and wait for his return, Lola became a king, Bruno concocted abominations, Faust drowned his sorrows in powders and elixirs, and the ever-looming threat of High-Elves and Krists, loomed more than ever.

There was also the problem of a wandering [Hero], Sophia’s disappearance, rumours of a Sun demon, and further minor issues that were on Sylver’s seemingly endless to-do list.

But the important thing was, he had a way to find Edmund, and all the cultivators, country sized mountains, ancient dragons, and swamp witches in the world weren’t going to be enough to stop him.

Book 5 of this Fantasy LitRPG Series about a reincarnated necromancer growing in power and finding his way in a new world where the rules have changed vastly since he last "lived."

The overall story was great as usual. The main character’s harshness is often hilarious, but he’s sometimes too hypocritical or domineering.

The worst thing about this book was the end. I honestly still have no way of knowing if that was where it was supposed to end and the last chapter started repeating. If it’s bugged to repeat, then the odds that a chapter or two got left out isn’t zero. There’s also no real way to know as far as I can tell.

I really like the book, but the past couple all seem to have the same issues, the time skips at the beginning of the book jumps around all over the place, some things get doubled up, some chapters are in the book twice.

the story is fun, I really enjoy listening to the books and the narrator does a good job, it's just annoying when thingsll like that take away from the overall book

Fun Storey, Needs more editing

Another Great

The first twelve or more hours I lamented that this book simply isn't fun. I even checked to make sure this was the same narrator. The first four books were full of confident and snarky zeal, like the 1975 Tom Baker Dr. Who who always mocked galaxy ending megalomaniacs. In book 5 Sylver kept running into opponents he couldn't harm and who could obliterate him. Sylver kept wanting to run from everyone and was continuously helpless and frustrated. This just isn't fun. It broke the formula that made the first four books enjoyable. In the first four books Sylver was a wise and powerful mage who came to a world who doesn't know about his magic style and has no defense against it. In book five, it's reversed.

Is book 5 well written and narrated? Yes, of course. But it lost a great part of the magic I loved. Will I continue the series? After 100+ hours of listening to this in a marathon, I don't intend to buy the next book. I don't want to listen to more like book 5. Maybe if it comes on sale or for free, but not for $11.43 or whatever a credit costs.

Less Fun than Books 1 to 4
