Syl was given a choice by Gramps when they died. Reincarnate as a regular person or embark on a daring experiment. Driven by a desire to honor Gramps and a sense of adventure, Syl chose the latter... only to awaken as a lowly slime.

A farmed slime.

The life of a farmed slime was cruel. Syl was constantly at the mercy of humans, a slime whose only purpose was to eat and recycle garbage. The threat of lethal core-destroying knives wielded by innocent children was a constant shadow. This was not the life Syl had envisioned. So, they made a daring escape to the wilderness!

Along the way, Syl discovered the joy of eating everything they encountered. But the local monsters weren't too thrilled with another creature moving in. Humans, dwarves, and elves see monsters as nothing but experience. Goblins see Syl as an exploitable resource.

With the odds stacked against Syl, the question of their survival loomed large. Could they not just survive but thrive? Could they unlock new magic and integrate new slime cores? The future was a vast, uncharted territory, but Syl was unwavering in their determination to explore it, no matter the challenges that lay ahead.

And the biggest question of all—

Can Syl make any friends?

I do not like bonus chapters of other books unless they tell us about it in the description, especially when it's an hour and a half. to me, they've lied about the book's runtime.

I enjoyed the story, although I felt it was a little too long

Love the book and love the character twist. I will purchase book two, but I am disappointed that you list this as a 20 hour book when it's not. It's 17 hours or so and 2 hours plus of a different book. I am glad you shared the other book but don't like the dishonesty.

Liked the book but

The way the author made the slime the main character was amazing. He did a great job good storytelling good progression can’t wait for book 2.

My hero is a slime

I can't wait for more of this. It quickly became one of my all-time favorites

Takes a little getting used to because it is very much on task. Idk how to say it. I was kinda down on it originally but it grew on me. Relaxing in a way. Follows MC mainly. Not too much depth. Could’ve enjoyed more character building. Picks up though and power leveling is a thing in this book big time. It’s easy to just put on and listen if you’re down. Narrators do a great job.

Edit: I’m almost through the second book now. WAY more character building with characters surrounding the MC as the story continues while keeping with variety of combat and even jumps into more diverse scenarios. The supporting characters are great and the narrators get to show out with all the variety. I’ve already preordered the third book.

Enjoyable story that gets better as it goes.

A really good, no nonsense, no romance litrpg. I love how it focuses on steady progression, focus on all introduced characters, and the recurring theme of friendship. The story is super fun to listen to and the narration is thoroughly enjoyable and so true to the characters! Really fun litrpg - one of my faves!

Loveable Slime Story

Thought this would be something that my grands and I would enjoy together. Just a little disappointed in how it evolved in to dropping F bombs. Definitely not for my younger grands.

I give it a 3.5/5 because while it's not my kind of book, it's still objectively good for what's more a slice of life book. it's odd in that it's all about leveling and getting stronger but at the same time. there's zero risk or danger. the MC very quickly has a collection of immunities and abilities that make it nearly impossible to hurt them and able to have the counter ability to nearly every enemy.

even odder the MC often find themselves against enemies that are in every way worse than them (as an example he goes against a lower level fire breathing creature, while having fire immunity and being a water creature and both of them are magic users but MC has more mana and this is basically a boss fight in the book)

there's zero risk. he literally stands and let's a "boss" blow fire at him until the creature runs out of ability to, then defeats it.

he's well into the book at this point, like over half way and often still fighting level 3 or 4 creatures despite being like lvl 20+

good premise, lacking excitement, challenge

I enjoy this book a lot and it is well worth a read for those who like story’s about evolution and leveling

Liked it a lot

liked the book but it had some problems with narration. firstly the transitions had no indication of swapping perspectives so that was pretty jarring. Secondly at a certain point any time a skill name was said they started cutting the audio and replacing it with another clip that sounded like it was recorded later by the narrators in annoyance. overall good, but weird narration.
