Unhinged Amazingness

After Even If It Hurts I was a little reluctant to dive back into this series and Sam's stories, but OMMMGGG this is everything I was hoping for from her. Silvan is over the top obsessed and absolutely unhinged when it comes to Sophie and I couldn't get enough.

I loved watching Sophie's internal battle with her feelings for Silvan. She knew he was off kilter, but also enjoyed the love and devotion he showed her. She was a touch broken and Silvan slipped through those cracks. Would I condone this in real life, heck no, but in the pages of the book this kind of touch her and keel over adoration is one of my favorite tropes, I just loved him.

The audio was amazing. DUET narration with a partial cast and everyone rocked it. I had an absolute blast listening to this one and the almost 15hrs of audio blew by as I devoured it whole.

What did I just read, and why did I love it so much. This is definitely not your typical love story. So if that's what you want, this is not it. Silvan becomes obsessed with Sophie as soon as he sees her. He wants her no matter what he has to do. Sophie is sweet and just trying to live a regular college life.

I did the audio and really enjoyed it. The narrators did a great job.

okay this was a good book. Its about a girl that doesn't like to be around big crowds, and if you want to know why you're just going to have to read/listen to it. Anyways one day her roommate invites her to a Halloween party and she meets this Devilish good looking guy. The whole time she's at this party.He's just keeping a real close.Eye on her, pretty much stalking his praying. She knows something isn't right with this guy but for some reason she get caught in his web and now he won't or doesn't want to let her go. well she be able to get away from him or will she end up in love with her Monster/ Captive? idk your just going to have to read/listen to the book.

Sophie Is Borderline TSTL

Actually it seems of the 3 Coastal Elite titles I enjoyed, (books 1, 3 and 4) all 3 of the MFCs seemed TSTL. Let's face it ladies, in real life if a girl A meets a boy and while he goes out and has sex with other girls while he prevents girl A from even meeting another guy thus keeping her a virgin until he's ready (Landon) there would be some blood boiling. And if a boy tricks girl A into taking prenatal vitamins instead of the birth control she thought she was taking and thereby getting her pregnant (Silvan) there would be hell to pay. And Dare is a piece of work...he keeps Aubrey on lockdown so that she has no friends and monitors everything she does. In fact all 3 of the guys gas light and control their women to a certain extent, but Dare is the absolute worst! Of the 3 I am not convinced that he really loves Aubrey...just obsessed. Let's not forget that at some point all of the h's were at some point raped by the H. But back to Sophie...I don't think I've ever encountered an h so unaware and lacking common sense as much as Sophie does. It seems at every turn she would ignore that little voice that warned her not to do something. I can understand once...but twice, thrice? The "professor" at school has a note given to her that tells her to meet him at his house for school related stuff. Her inner thoughts tell her it isn't a good idea so of course she shows up at his house. There's a note that tells her he is waiting in his bedroom so what does Sophie think? 'Oh no surely the professor doesn't want sex from her?' So then she thinks nothing will happen that she doesn't want to happen (we know at this point that Silvan has already forced her to do things she didn't want, and also her male friend from high school forced her to do something she didn't want) What's sad is that at times Sophie does have enough awareness to ask herself, "When will I learn?" The obvious answer seems to be never...because she keeps allowing herself to be manipulated and keeps falling for the same tricks over and over again... Aubrey, Parker and Sophie are lucky that they aren't beaten down physically and mentally or cheated on by their men because in real life we would all be trying to get them all to a battered women's shelter.

Now all this being said....I am loving the Coastal Elite series! My only trigger is cheating so as long as the men stay possessive and dominant and faithful I will be along for the ride. I only haven't listened to the 2nd title because the storyline doesn't really interest me at this time, but who knows! Maybe after the last book in the series...I am thinking Hannah and Arden? 🤔

Thank you duet style! All of the performers are excellent, I admit that Theo Sinclair and Michael Gallagher are 2 of my absolute favorites, Benjamin Sands is also rising in the ranks in my list.

4.5 starz - worthy of a repeat listen

zero preservation skills

so Sam writes books about women who have absolutely 0% preservation skills I hope she is not one of these women in real life because that means I would actually have to pity her. all of Sam books are pretty much train wrecks to determine whether or not the girl is going to get raped because the male characters are so unbelievably and pathetically morally questionable
