As a stranger things fan, it's really cool to get some backstory on Max! We don't usually get to see what the characters are thinking during the show, so it's nice to get a glimpse of that.

Another great prequel for Stranger Things.

Great POV from Max, about, well, everything. Sophia, if I got the narrator's name right, does a perfect job at performing.

Not as original as I hoped for but still good

The best parts of this book is where we learn more about Max and her family. I wish this story had been 100% original, but there are many chapters that just rehash scenes from Season 2. Still, I had a good time with this book. I have always liked Max, and you get to learn more about Billy, too. If you don't mind a replay of certain scenes from the show, this book is worth the read/listen, but it is not the best book in the Stranger Things novel series. Still, I love Season 2, so it was nice to revisit that season from Max's POV.
