Great story

The story hooked me from the very start and I liked the ending. I will look for more books by Lee Bacon.

Good Twist but Slow

Good story line, nice twists & turns. Plot was a little slow to begin with.

Somewhat irritating main character

Emily is supposed to be super smart but she’s surprisingly slow to pick up on things. I kept reminding myself she was only supposed to be 13. And perhaps she just preferred to take her time explaining how she reached a conclusion, thereby falsely inflating the amount of time it seems it took her to reach it.

I also found the Emily Dictionary particularly annoying - especially since some of the new words have definitions that actually already have a word with that same meaning. Then again, I doubt I’m the target audience for this book and perhaps a preteen reader would be less annoyed.

Great Acting!

It was by far the best acting I've heard so far on Audible.

The story fall short, but still let me hanging.

Truly original

I had so much fun with this book. The story was so well written and the performances were top notch. Loved the humor towards the end bringing audible into the story. Thank you, so much, for this. It was a special gift.

Simple story — or deceptively so?

This is another Audible Original that is produced with good, appropriately chosen narration and just enough, subtle & non-distracting sound effects. Had it not been offered as a “perk” at $0,zero credits, I’m sure I would have not anted up payment for this book. I would have missed out.

This is a relatively simple story — that develops into more detail and some surprising twists with a refreshing surprise as a satisfying finish.

While definitely written for the YA reader, I’d say it can be entertaining and enjoyable for many women readers as well. I think most would enjoy the characters — they’re appealing and fun.

I find young adults to be delightful, often challenging, always interesting. When an author captures them, as in The Mystery of Alice, with love, humor, compassion, respect, and an interesting story, I am often glad I read that author. For me, their book needn’t be deep or “important” in scope to be just plain enjoyable, as with “Mystery of Alice” — a good book.

finished listening in a day

enjoyed this audiobook. the main narrator was very good. i recognized some of the cast from a different audible original. if the plot took place in real life, it would be quite frightening and disturbing. this book kept me up late at night just so i could finish.

This is such a fabulous story, and every performer is AMAZING!! I loved it!! I didn’t have the slightest notion the direction it was going to take until the very end!

Would make a great movie!

This is such an entertaining story, that would be wonderful visually.... suspenseful and spooky for all the right reasons.

Kept me intrigued throughout the story. Narration was outstanding. Sound made the scenes more realistic and believable.
