    "Good information, monotonous delivery"
Where does The Mental Game of Poker rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

The author did the audio for this, and delivered it very poorly, like someone reading test questions.

Would you be willing to try another book from Jared Tendler and Barry Carter ? Why or why not?

If Jared Tendler does the audio for those books, I would be less inclined to buy it.

"Good For People Who Haven't Played Much Poker"

It's a very simple analysis of poker intended for people without much playing experience. It uses more complex terms, that new poker players might not be familiar with, while reaffirming the same points every chapter.

Intended for beginning poker players looking to learn the vocabulary, as well as those looking to organize their poker notes more efficiently.

This book really changed my definition of "working on my game". Most of the concepts Jared shares also apply to any sport and life in general. Great piece of knowledge and best poker related book I've read/listened to so far. (And I read a lot of those)

"Lessons for Poker. Lessons for Life."
What did you like best about The Mental Game of Poker? What did you like least?

What I like about this book is what I like about poker. The skills necessary for good poker play are also very helpful in everyday life. Tendler states what poker is honestly and uses that as the basis for his strategy to help players play better. I believe he has a firm grasp of what poker players are thinking and their mental blocks to the game.

I think some of the concepts, like a warmup before playing, are not well developed. I am in no position to judge what would be good but to simply say: Step 1, review your goals, Step 2, take a few deep breaths, Step 3, get to playing. Yeah, that didn't have enough meat to it to warrant ink on a page......or 0 and 1s in a digital audiobook.

Would you recommend The Mental Game of Poker to your friends? Why or why not?

Yes, though I think what I like about it would be lost on anyone that wasn't familiar with the game of poker. Having said that, for a poker book, this book had a noticeable lack of technical poker in it but again, that's the point. This book was as much a way to approach life as it was about improving your poker game.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Jared Tendler?

    No idea.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

Terrible question for a self-help book. No, I would not go see it.

    "Insightful but not enough."

I will most likely read it again but potentially think this is a book for beginners. A lot of what is taught, were things I have acquired through my playing. It is a good read, especially if the need to conquer tilt modes is necessary.

    "Best book for poker players."

Although I will repeat what others said before, this book is really the ultimate book when it comes to handling your mind when playing poker (and not just for that).

This book will teach you so many different things that can be applied in anything you wish to get good at.

    Definitely recommend it to anyone

    "Interesting content; awful delivery"
What disappointed you about The Mental Game of Poker?

The sound quality was poor. The style of delivery was generally pretty awful. It sounded like some kind of school project; really disappointing.

What did you like best about this story?

It's not a story, but advice on how to improve one's state of mind, mostly how to avoid getting 'tilted', when playing poker. I'm sure the guy knows what he's talking about! It's interesting stuff, although maybe more relevant to better players than me, who have more of the nuts and bolts of the game sorted.

What didn’t you like about Jared Tendler’s performance?

I don't understand how he can be happy, putting an audiobook out there that sounds like this?

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Mental Game of Poker?

I'm not sure I'd cut any scenes, I'd just get a completely different cast to do the reading!

    Any additional comments?

It's a shame that the sound of the book distracts from the interesting content. I don't know if it's possible to re-record it, but if it is, do!

    "Mind numbing"

Terrible narration - or are they trying to put you in a trance of frustration? Managed to limp through the first hour but heard nothing of value. I would say you must have real mental game issues to get any value from this painful listen. Returned before completion.

The first step is realising you have an issue. This book will talk you through ALL you tilt issues and give you exercises to do to cement firmly in to your mind. Loved it, and will keep going back for more.

"The Ultimate Guide to the Mental Game"

Quite simply, Jared Tendler is the best coach for the mental game. He is to poker as Bob Rotella is to golf.

Its probably one of the most important aspects to master in poker, as it will affect your play no matter what your skill level. And having a solid mental game will get you on the right track if you are still learning.
