Poker is hotter than ever, with tens of millions of fans dealing in, logging on, and tuning in to global tournaments. And the most popular version of poker is no limit hold’em, long considered the purest form of the game, with appearances in the World Series of Poker, the World Poker Tour, and on Bravo’s Celebrity Poker Showdown.

Now, Phil Gordon, acclaimed professional player and cohost of Celebrity Poker Showdown, shares his seasoned expertise and valuable insight in Phil Gordon’s Little Green Book. Featuring a conversational approach and easy-to-digest explanations and diagrams, this is the must-have guide for anyone who wants to go all-in on becoming a better no limit hold’em player.©2005 Phil Gordon; (P)2005 Simon & Schuster Inc. I actually bought the book first and was completely impressed. Of course there is going to be too much stuff to remember (poker is a very complex game), so I decided to get the audio version so I could easily review the material whenever I get a chance. Every time I listen to this I manage to find some kind of hole in my game or a great nugget of information to exploit someone with. This is a truly great book that can be listened to over and over. I have read quite a few books on poker and in my opinion this is the next best thing to Harrington on Holdem (which would be impractical for audio).

Great book!

If you want to learn No Limit Texas Holdem poker or improve your game, this is one of the books you will need to own. You may have see Phil on Bravo channel's Celebrity Poker describing the stars good, bad, or ugly play of the cards. He says that you can't play poker just by a chart because it's much more complex than black jack. He'll explain what to do and when to do it from each position at the table (under the gun, on the button, or in the big blind). He says he doesn't know everything about Texas Holdem and no one does. There's always something new to learn and you should develop your own style.

Excellent learning tool!

This book is mainly about no limit holdem tournaments because that's the authors main experience come from. He doesn't seem to be holding anything back. Excellent book for beginners and advanced players.

I haven't read the book but there is a lot of content in here and you'll probably need to listen a couple of times before you can soak in everything he has to offer.

Tons of useful tips and straight to the point.

Good information but short. Guess I need to get Phil's other two little books. Well written, easy to digest. Can't wait to put it to practice. Will need to listen a few more times I'm sure to get a good grasp of his theories of poker.

Seemed more for tournament poker. Picked up a few ideas though.
