The My Best Friend is an Eldritch Horror Complete Series Bundle is 6 Full Books of Magic Academy LitRPG adventure about a young man who accidentally summons a mysterious monster during his studies of magic.
Damien nearly ended the world. Now, his mistake might be the only thing that can save it.
Good things come to those who wait. Damien Vale didn’t, and he ended up bound to an Eldritch creature from beyond the reaches of space. It has lived since the dawn of time, seen the world born and destroyed countless times, and wants to be called Henry.
Unusual companion or not, Damien was still determined to go to a mage college and study magic. He wants nothing more than to live normal life as a researcher, but if Henry’s true nature is revealed, he’ll be killed.
To top it all off, Damien’s teacher is a madman from the front lines of war, his alcoholic dean suspects something is awry with his companion, and Blackmist might possibly be the worst school in history. Damien has to prevent the end of the world, but he isn’t even sure he’s going to make it through Year One at Blackmist.

if there is anything negative to say (besides I'm sad it's over and we didn't get to hear more stories from auxiliary characters) it's that the MC is a 100% Go-Go-Go! character. I don't mind this but i know I've heard similar complaints about characters like this before. He reminds me a lot of Lindon from Cradle.
Basically Perfect

The LitRPG elements are very light - which is a great thing, because it avoids the pitfalls so much of the rest of the genre fixates on. There are no endless walls of "system text" that halt the flow of the story. The pacing is excellent, there's always a new goal or challenge the heroes are working towards. Although there is a lot of fighting, it's interspersed with comedy and witty banter that keeps it fresh and interesting. The secondary characters are always entertaining, even if the primary focus is kept within the "main four" of Damien, his familiar, his roommate, and his teacher. That emphasis creates a lot of room for shenanigans and drama, without getting bogged down in game mechanics or the minutia of an extensive greater world. The story is tight, it knows what it's doing and where its going.
Also, Peter Berkrot is a LEGENDARY voice actor, delivering a ton of personality in a myriad of voices for the cast. I've seen duo-performances with fewer distinct voices, and he adds a lot of character to the sarcastic snark of Delph and Henry in particular.
The two series that are most comparable in my opinion are Mark of the Fool, and maybe He Who Fights With Monsters. This story moves faster than either since it carries less baggage, but both of these other recommendations have the same type of snark and action, mixed with a smidge of wholesome romance.
6 Audible Credits would be a bit much, but for 1 Credit it's an absolute steal.

I was expecting more shadows coming to life and/or tendrils coming out and grabbing their opponents to consume them through a dark void on the ground or wall.
My only real pet peeve with this story is that the narrator uses different voices for the different characters, but mixes them up frequently.
Epic storyline if a little odd.

By the end, it was just non-stop fighting just to fight. Like, "I'm in trouble! I gotta fight!" and then a 10 minute fight. When it was done, "that was close! we need to train more. anyone want to fight me for practice?" and then everyone would have to fight again for 20 minutes. It became really frustrating and I would just zone out.
That said, when they were actually hitting plot points, I liked it pretty well. And I think it ended in a pretty good place.
Unfortunately, the narrator had the same voice for 4 main male characters... and would sometimes add that to a female character if they are all talking together. Almost like he would forget who had a different voice. There would be variance at times, but then he would put that variance on all of them and so it was never enough for me to understand immediately who was speaking. Definitely took away from the whole.
If you're looking to kill some time, pick it up. If you want an amazing experience, look elsewhere.
Too much fighting, not enough character voices, still liked it.
