But Keyes is not the only one proven right. As the galaxy plunges into war, the Ixan Prophecies are being fulfilled, one by one. Humanity's oldest enemy is on the rise, with weaponry never seen before.

The fate of the galaxy now depends on Captain Keyes, his tired ship, and his oddball crew. It doesn't pay to be right.

What a story

If you could sum up Supercarrier in three words, what would they be?

What a great start to what will be I am sure will be a interesting series. The action is non stop at times. We see what the human fleet think as a rundown carrier, with a captain and crew that are rejects and misfits. But the fleet command forget that this is what makes them work so well together. Even when the command place people on board to sabotage the ship. Looking forward to book two.

Worth reading

As always Mark Boyett did a fantastic job.

Story was interesting but felt like it had some holes in it when compared to other recent SF I have read - nothing to make me drop the book but did kind of break the suspension of disbelief.

I felt the captain was not written well. We are set up to believe that he is a great captain but then makes a bunch of rudimentary mistakes. Holds his crew responsible but then does those same things himself. Overemotional, etc. I have a hard time seeing a person with these tendencies making it as far as he did or being as successful as he was supposed to be.

Excellent multi-faceted character creations

A somewhat flippant, recently demoted 1st lieutenant who is the son of an infamous traitor father. A quirky captain of the lone human massive starship that doesn't use dark tech for worm hole travel. A no-nonsense marine sergeant who becomes delusional after experiencing her own death through an invasive mind control simulation. A bipedal fighter-jock bird species called Wingers along with an almost prescient fish-like species called ... wait for it ... Fin. These and other make for a highly entertaining cast as they attempt to save the galaxy from the end times predicted in the Ixan Prophecies.

I have no idea what is going on.

I really don't know who the primary protagonist is, and the characters are flat like a cookie cutter minion. Performance was good, but the story couldn't hold water. It could have used editing and actually focused on a character, but what is done is done. I will be refunding this for my single credit back.

Not bad, not great.

The characters need to be developed more. I think this book should have been 3 times as long.

Confusing rank structure and strategies

The captain and crew of theProvidence take a principled stand against corrupt fleet and government leaders who start a galactic war between former allies. Human greed and galactic dominance have turned the rest of the galaxy against them. The aging Providence is to only remaining super carrier without dark tech. As dark tech begins to fail, the Providence survives where others fail.

Ranks of Providence crew don’t follow standard structures of current Army, Air Force, or Navy forces. Strategies and tactics appear illogical.

Too many avians, screwy plot. However, it is always a pleasure to listen to Mark Boyett. Looking forward to more interesting Sci Fi fantasies !

A real author was born !!!

What a beautiful universe such an imagination is hard to find this days, to many books are coming out but only %.00001 are really worth reading/listening to which makes life difficult not knowing what book to choose, which will you enjoy?
Well Suppercarrier is one of those %0000001 and I’m lucky to have chosen right on this one !!!
Excellent story

Which makes me un able to say anything bad about i, I so hope that the rest of the trilogy is just as good because I’m dying to find out, I truly couldn’t take a break from listening which I actually fell asleep once at 4 AM and had to go back to find where I was before I fell asleep, it’s just that good !
No waiting a few chapters to get into it, I was grabbed into the story instantly, no boring parts.
What else can I say?

GET THIS BOOK, LISTEN TO IT YOU WON’T REGRET IT !

Providence - Carrier supreme

Let me preface this by saying I was lucky enough to have received this as a free download from the author. Saying that, I would say it doesn't affect my review. This is the beginning of a wonderful rich series of stories highlighting corporate greed Vs human survival. Where do humans fit into the great scheme of things, well The Ixan Prophecies lays it out. Follow Captain Keyes and Lt. Usher through a minefield of scheming, dark days and hope. I've read all three books and I now listened to it brought to life. Highly recommended.

Kind of formulaic, but worth your time.

Loved listening to it, underdeveloped characters, background and technology, but an enjoyable classic adventure. would look for some more titles of this author.
