Publisher's Summary

Most parents would give anything to anchor their children with a vibrant faith that "sticks" and continues to mature long-term. Yet despite this deep desire, research indicates that approximately 40-50% of high-school seniors drift from their faith after graduation. In response to this problem, the Fuller Youth Institute (FYI) has launched the College Transition Project, a national longitudinal study following 400 high-school seniors during their first three years in college. This provocative and needed research is geared to spark a movement that empowers parents, churches, leaders, and adults of all ages to develop robust and long-term faith in kids.

Sound advice, holy wisdom, Godly social science...

a good representation of the current approach to teen faith formation in Reformation and Evangelical communities.

Brings new meaning to "Takes a community!"

This book has changed the way I see and think about not just my own children, but my friends' children and especially the teens in my community. I so appreciate the years or dedicated research collected and compiled here. A great (and MUST) read for anyone who has kids, has family members who have kids, have friends who have kids, lives in a community where there are kids present, or attends a church where there are kids in the congregation... pretty much anyone who isn't living under a rock.

Reactivates what we know at a gut level

What made the experience of listening to Sticky Faith the most enjoyable?

We need to be intentional as parents to create a community for our kids to grow in that makes up when and where we cannot, and extends other platforms for our kids to take full advantage of their opportunity for salvation and faith.

Great Ideas Yet Unrealistic Ones, Too!

Would you try another book from Kara E. Powell and Chap Clark and/or Jay Charles?

I would check it out of a library and scan for good ideas from each chapter, but would not own a book by them.

Could you see Sticky Faith being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

No, this book is more of a sharing of ideas than a story line.
