Publisher's Summary

Using kings of the Old Testament as character studies, Steve Farrar examines the critical role a father plays in preparing his son to become a godly man. What separated the good kings from the bad kings was a father who made time commitments to mentor his son, by modeling biblical manhood. Do you want your son to become a man of regal character? Then this book is for you!

EVERY Man and Boy Alive Should Read This!!

What did you love best about King Me?

WOW! Every man and boy alive should read this book. Certainly every father or father to be of a son should read this book. Man so powerful and speaks to my heart so deeply. I'm not a Father yet but I know that when I am I will re-read this and I am more prepared to be so, but not only that, more prepared to live in the world as a Christian man, son, husband, brother, leader, employee, employer... This book is life changing!

What did you like best about this story?

Everything!

What did you learn from King Me that you would use in your daily life?

How to be a better more intentional male adult. Also more about myself and finding that other men struggle with the same things I do, not some, all. I want to be a man that lives in relationships intentionally in my actions and conversations that build, encourage, teach, and grow those around me and certainly those under me that I'm responsible for.

Any additional comments?

Can't wait to read Steve's other books and can't thank him enough for this one!

A Must for Fathers Raising Boys

This is a great follow up to Farrar's excellent book "Point Man". He gives practical, biblical advice that is needed to all fathers of boys. It really opened my eyes to how the world is pulling at our boys in the wrong direction and how I can correct that.

Everything I have read/listened to by Steve Farrar is excellent and this is no exception!

Shaky theology

Seems to misrepresent some very basic Bible truths to make a point. Kind of puts the rest of the book in question for me. Not a very interesting listen either way, so no big loss.

Fathering could be the greatest single challenge of your life.

A couple of quotes from the book I took note of
- "It may be hard for a father not to have a son but it is much hard for a son not to have a father"
- "The best leaders think far enough ahead to groom a replacement. That's what fathering is all about, it's mentoring and equipping their your son to become a man who will assume the family leadership for the next generation"

Overall this was a great book to get insight as to how to engage and teach my sons. I have 3 boys. The author points to many examples of biblical fathering, good and bad, and does a great job with personal examples as well. Lots of lessons to learn. I believe books like this one are essential for a father who wants to raise his son to have a biblical foundation. Every Christian father should read this. I also recommend Point Man which is the author's other book. He mentions it a few times in this book.

Son? MUST READ!

This is for every parent of a boy! Yes, it's great for the fathers, but even the mothers too! I would highly recommend listening to it, and listening to it again and again and again. As our sons get older, things change and he touches on many different ages and facets of boys lives. So important to be proactive in this day and age, to train up our sons in the ways they should go and be aggresive enough to protect them and teach them so they don't get eaten alive by society and the vices of the evil one!
