Publisher's Summary

More teens are turning away from the faith than ever before: It is estimated that 75 to 88 percent of Christian teens walk away from Christianity by the end of their freshman year of college. Something must be done.

Family Driven Faith equips Christian parents with the tools they need to raise children biblically in a post-Christian, antifamily society. Voddie Baucham, who with his wife has overcome a multigenerational legacy of broken and dysfunctional homes, shows that God has not left us alone in raising godly children.

This bold book is an urgent call to parents - and the church - to return to biblical discipleship in and through the home.

An impactful must read.

Voddie has recently become one of my favorite pastors to listen to so I thought I would check out some of his writings. I was encouraged in areas of success, but I was not ready for the Holy Spirit empowered gut punches over areas where I have been failing. If you can’t say amen you should at least say ouch. I said ouch far far more than I ever said amen. This book is a tremendous blessing a gift from God through Dr. Baucham. I don’t need my ears tickled I need the Holy Spirit to say enough is enough and wrestle me into submission before it is too late. Brother Voddie, if you happen to read these know that you are valuable beyond measure. Now to ask my family to forgive me for not leading well and begin to right the ship.

Strong

I was brought up in a single mother home for the first 9 years and then with a stepdad. Since my born again revelation, I struggled to find a church mentor or even using the church as a guide to understanding the Christian family. Thank God he is faithful in pushing me into his word and church history. The church wants to push the small group thing as the place for discipleship and I just don’t get it. Thank you for the confirmation of biblical principles and helping me see places to have a more Christ centered home. The breath of fresh air to a truly repentant heart is the fire of this world. Do not be conformed, that alone is a lifetime of work. God Bless.

Must “read” for all Christian parents.

If you are a Christian parent (or plan to be) this book is obligatory reading.

The starting point matters

I recently had a dialogue with my pastor discussing whether or not children should be included in the service to listen to the sermon. He provided me with a critique of family driven faith and the integrated church model.

I took that as a recommendation to read this book because you can’t critique a book without knowing it’s context. Having read the book I love it! I highly recommend it. I found that I disagreed with several points in my pastors critique of the book largely because they are starting from two different locations. The starting point matters.

You are not going to arrive where Voddie Baucham wants to take you if you don’t start from where he starts. The blocks only stack up nicely if you grant as true the first 3/4 of the book. If you start from where you’re at you will reject large portions of this book.

The narrator did a fantastic job at sounding like the author.

From a husband, father, and student pastor

If you are a father, mother, pastor or want to start a family in the future, please listen to this book with an open heart and mind. You will be challenged and at times feel invaded. But the truths and power of the Bible will inspire you if you let it. Thank you to Dr. Bauchum for this book.

Loved it!

Excellent flow, clearly articulated message, brilliant narrator. Voddie makes an excellent argument for his position and the take action questions at the end of each chapter are provocatively motivating. Now we just need the "Family Shepherds" audiobook!

Phenomenal book!!

I love Voddie Baucham. I have been looking for books that will help me be a better leader for my family. Not relying on the church to raise my girls and wife but for me to take charge and be the pastor of my house. As a new believer as I gave my life to the Lord on Valentine’s Day 2014 I was going to a bigger church that is well known around America and other countries. I was relied on the youth pastor to raise my daughters. I was not being taught how to raise my own daughters or being discipled one on one by any man there. This book really puts things into perspective. I am no longer part of that big church. I felt called to pull my family out of there . I have since began to do devotions with my family since joining this new church. Thank you so much for this book!

The best modern guide for fatherhood

really enjoyed this book. I only wish that it was longer and went into more detail about that is of biblical fatherhood in the home. That's not to say that it doesn't cover these it's just so good and biblically solid on these topics that it leaves you wanting for more
