There is also an entire section devoted to diving safety, much of which covers vitally important aspects of scuba diving that standard training manuals don't emphasize enough or even leave out completely.

Beginner diver here…

The well thought out examples and situations that were used to represents the lessons taught were spot on. I have a had bunch of times where, after I surfaced, I would think back to what I did wrong and how the book had mentioned it. Definitely recommend for anyone who considers or wants to start diving.

Listen well before your class, but...

chapter 11 was repeated, which means chapter 9 is missing, and I really wanted that chapter.

really enjoyed the content of this book, it goes into very deep detail as to what to expect during the class. as for me, I already took the class and it was enlightening to know that I picked the right dive resort where I took my swimming classes. it taught me that no matter where I won't always be a diver until I have a lot more experience. very enlightening very great book would highly recommend

The author is very thoughtful as he goes through the various aspects of learning to dive. Even experienced divers will feel more confident after listening.
